SEN reckons the reason why Adelaide traded for Angus Graham so readily was because they knew they were going to approach the AFL about the possible Tippett contract indiscretion and were afraid the AFL would prevent them from doing any further trading this year and so prevent them from getting a back up for Jacobs secured before the repercussions.

Lucky us if that's the case.

Why would they care about a bloke they don't rate? Maric was playing twos and their ruckman is better than him anyway. Getting a 2nd rounder for him was a decent deal for them. Knights is a reserves player at a top side so if they GAF about him then why did they stick him in the reserves all year and let him walk? Even Clinton Young has more runs on the board and the Hawks only got pick 66. What would Adelaide expect for Knights? the #1 pick? They traded away picks to us because they werent going to use them.

Nice to see Coach making sense for a change   :thumbsup

Anyway the latest rumour today from BF:

Apparently,We have offered pick 9 and Post to the Doggies for pick 6.

We will then have one more shot at Tyson involving pick 6 and a "mature player"

http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/trades-and-free-agency-talk-pt2.977103/page-80#post-26176979

So, Pick 9, Post and Jackson or Nahas (assuming they are the mature players).  Hefty price to pay for a kid who has played half the games out of one season.
Western Bulldogs list manager Jason McCartney said there was no chance any of the first round picks would be traded before the 2pm Gillette Trade Period deadline on Friday.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/150193/default.aspx

So we can rule out the rumour of pick 9 + Post for the Dogs pick 6.

SEN reporting that Adelaide will face a $800,000 fine and Tippett will be de-registered  :o.

Surely not?
1116 SEN has reported that Adelaide will cop a $800,000 fine, deregister Kurt Tippett AND strip Adelaide of their first round draft pick if found guilty of trade tampering.

--------------------------------------------------

RUMOR:
Essendon and Fremantle have apparently discussed a trade which would see Greg Broughton land at the bombers and Tayte Pears return to WA.

---------------------------------------------------

TRADE RUMOR:
Essendon and Melbourne have spoken this morning regarding this trade.

Essendon receive Jordan Gysberts
Essendon lose Brent Prismall & a 4th round pick.

Melbourne receive Brent Prismall & a 4th round pick.
Melbourne lose Jordan Gysberts.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Port Adelaide are set to land midfielder Hayden Jolly from the Gold Coast for pick #30 and also have a few more irons in the fire.

Adelaide already got Crouch, and were offering Tippett ~$800k as it were.

Adelaide put themselves in a bind as soon as they agreed to that clause in Tippett's contract. They allegedly agreed to trade Tippett to the club of his choice for a second round pick if he wanted to leave at the end of the contract (which is now). Problem was they assumed it would be to the Gold Coast whose second round pick is in the 20s. Tippett choosing Sydney instead meant by that clause the Crows should be accepting the Swans' second pick in the 40s which the AFL would've found suss anyway. This was always going to blow up in Adelaide's face  :wallywink.

lolz if true  :lol

;D serves the dobbers right. Though I think they've taken a fair hammering already. Angus & Tambling in with Maric & Knights out and not getting compo for Knights lol

Yeah Adelaide are spewing about losing Knights and Maric :lol

Yer they must be stoked to have lost Maric.  :whistle
I said Knights for no compo. Doubt they'd care so much about Knights leaving but then receiving zero compensation annoyed them. Seems they've approached the AFL about it I'd say they're stoked about that too.

Why would they care about a bloke they don't rate? Maric was playing twos and their ruckman is better than him anyway. Getting a 2nd rounder for him was a decent deal for them. pfft Maric is better than one trick pony Jacobs

Give me a spell. I suppose if Gus has a reasonable year next year then the Crows fan can say he is better than Maric.

I always make sense. It's just up to the readers to soak in the thoughts of a legend. Sometimes it's hard for them to hear the truth.

If Tippet gets unregistered to play he will only have himself to blame.

Adelaide now being investigated for salary cap breaches involving alleged undisclosed third-party payments.

KURT Tippett may be banned from footy next season and the Crows may not have a pick in the national draft as the saga over the tall forward exploded yesterday.

It is unlikely Adelaide will be stripped of draft picks, its cause helped by the fact it put up its hand.

Because there is no AFL injunction, Sydney and Adelaide might still seal a deal.

Sydney was last night waiting to hear from the AFL, believing it could get its man Tippett by offering pick 23 and Jesse White.

There was speculation the Swans could come up with a more "commercial" deal to satisfy the AFL.

A THREE-WAY deal delivering Stefan Martin, Ben Jacobs and Cameron Pedersen to their clubs of choice has been stalled by Brisbane's cold feet and Melbourne's meagre compensation selection.

Brisbane's reluctance to part with pick 33 for Demon utility Martin is the latest snag as Friday's 2pm deadline looms.

Port Adelaide wants North Melbourne's pick 15 for Jacobs given he was a former No.16 selection, but North won't give that up.

West Coast has turned its attention to securing Melbourne wingman Cale Morton. One of West Coast's third-round selections (No.61 or No.62) could swing the deal for the Dees.
