BEN JACOBS is set to walk out on Port Adelaide after deciding to nominate for the NAB AFL Draft

AFL.com.au understands North remains Jacobs' preferred new home. Given the Roos' trade period stance, they will presumably be hoping to snare the midfielder in the draft with pick No. 38.

Their chances of doing so are clouded by the interest shown in Jacobs by Victorian clubs such as the Western Bulldogs, St Kilda and Essendon during the trade period, all of whom have picks between the Roos' first- and second-round selections.

Ben Jacobs isn't a free agent so he can only be picked up in the upcoming drafts. If we wanted to use 4 picks on newbies and then have a 5th pick for a recycled player then yes we would have to delist another player. However that isn't going to happen. We will be using just 4 picks.
