Kel Moore was a very handy footballer at his best pre injuries for a couple of seasons there.
Certainly the best out of Thursfield he and McGuane.
Fortunately we have young Grimey as a very able replacement.
Best of luck to him.

Miller was lucky to get a 2nd shot. Offered little.

i am saddened by Kelvin retiring
all his efforts top get back up basically must have not been right or the same
In Brad's case probably a failed project BUT WORTH the look

Good to see the club on the front foot and making the right decisions early.

Good luck in the future to both boys. The right decision was made today on both counts.

Kel Moore made his decision to retire as a Richmond player a couple of days ago, after weighing up the short-term benefits of an AFL career compared with his long-term well-being.

Moore underwent surgery on his troublesome hip numerous times, in a desperate attempt to return to the playing field with the Tigers.

To his great credit, he succeeded, making his long-awaited comeback in the Round 16 clash with Gold Coast at Cairns, followed by two other senior appearances.

But, as he told Tiger great, Matthew Richardson, in a special “Roar Vision” interview today, he knew the time had come for him to hang up his boots . . .

“You just know when the time is right, you just can’t go on,” Moore said.

“It was a real battle to get back.

Don't think the player group would agree with you there.

Brad Miller was bought to the Club for a specific reason/purpose and fulfilled that role exactly the way the Dimma wanted

As for Kel Moore, I reckon he has made the absolute right decision. Full credit to him to come back and play after missing 2 years of footy

Good luck to both of them. They should be thanked for their contribution to the club. Moore showed alot of guts determination and bravery to come back from that injury. Both have made a decision in the best interests of the club and should be congratulated for it. Bar for injuries Moore would have had a long career. Moore's injury cut him down when he was getting back to his best. Miller played some okay games for the club.

Personally hated the Miller call when drafted but he did his role and was selfless as a clubman which cannot be under estimated at tiger land. Kel on the other hand should've listened to the doctors last year. He rolled the dice and came up way short, hope it doesn't impact his quality of life later on
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

always thought kelvin a good solid citizen when fit.
what i dont get is why we kept him on the list for two yrs only to see him rtire after 2 games  back.
surely we kept him not in hope that he could come good but we were pretty sure he would come good and give two or three yrs of good service. i was happy for us to keep him as long as there was a decent dividend for us as a club.
surely we as a club should have talked him into retirement 2 yrs ago with his long term health in mind why keep him him if it was always going to be an issue.

with this outcome we lose big time  imo its another thing we have got wrong when it comes to list management.
good on kel for calling it a day i just wish he had done it 2 yrs ago.

on miller well imo we had him one yr too many. one can understand the good reasons why we needed a mature tall forward 2 yrs ago. no one was ready apart from jack.  we still dont have another kpf up to standard and you could see them keeping miller for one more.
the kids were  one preseason older and more physically capable of playing this yr. club should have had the sense to cut him last yr.

at least brad miller  had the good sense to retire i dont know if the club would have pushed him out going by their record. we still have need of experienced players around the club.

how anyone can call this the club getting its house in order is beyond me. two blokes retired they werent pushed. two blokes who we may have  hung onto imo, especially moore.

imo they were both tapped on the shoulders for the future benefits of the team
it is that time of the year and hard decisions needed to be made
if the club had finished in the 8 they may have stayed on but now we are looking for more depth and a look at guys like cloke etc etc

He rolled the dice and came up way short

I wouldn't say that, he came back from where no one thought he could. Thats not coming up way short.

two blokes retired they werent pushed. two blokes who we may have  hung onto imo, especially moore.

So we wasted 10 games on him this year when we could've played McGuane?

Am I the only one who thinks these retirements weren't done without a bit of a push?
