The more dawks supporters I meet confirms the suspicions I've had for some time...
They have the most turncoat, disloyal supporters in the VFL/AFL.
In my opinion their success in the eighties has created a generation of support to the detriment of clubs such as Richmond.
The dawks really didn't have a big supporter base that we see now. This was a result of their success in both day and night grand finals which caught the imagination of many many youngsters.
Now in my household I didn't give my kids a choice who they wanted to barrack for, but obviously there are many softie limp wristed parents out there who allowed their kids to choose another team.
If you don't beleive this to be true just ask every Whorethorn supporter what his first team was or what jumper his parents bought him when he was a baby! You'll find I'm spot on with this.
In my understanding most of them just went with team on the top at the time and during the eighties the dawks were there most of the time.
Really as much as I scoff at them for being the traitors, defectors, deserters, apostates and jumper swappers, I don't really blame them as much as I blame their pussy parents for allowing it.
In this city it's sacrilege.
