If we are one pick ahead of bombres, can we elect to take daniher in the draft considering our first rd pick is higher than theirs?

Nope.  We must nominate our pick that we would use and as long as Essendon match it with a same round pick then they get him.

I think what EAT is saying is we can nominate Daniher with our pick to force the Bombers to use there's, just I case no one else does ;D

How it works is that all clubs get a chance to bid (in reverse ladder order) at a meeting pre-draft.  If there are no bids then the Father-Son club can use whatever pick they like, otherwise they must use their next available pick after the winning bid if they want the player.  If they don't then the player goes to the lowest bid club/pick.

He'd offer 31 but be conned into pick 9 because they are silver colored loafers. As we all know they are shiny  ;D

You'd imagine that we'll use our first two picks at least on midfielders this year. Another ruck would be good too but perhaps we'll try to gain this through via trade  :-\  :huh

Just to get some idea and discussion of who might be available around each of our picks here's a couple of early phantom drafts from those on BF who regularly do very detailed ones each year:

Someone give it to me straight. Are we going to get a poo-hot midfielder this year with pick 9?
