Nick Vlaustin has held strong for Richmond's defense tonight having 27 disposals, 13 marks (four contested), seven intercept marks and 15 intercepts - an equal-career high.

Apparently not as good as Stewart though.

Incredible game from one of the most underrated footballers I have ever seen in my life.

The best player at your club yet to be named All-Australian

SEN
23 May 2025

Nick Vlastuin
It’s a crying shame that the perennially unlucky Nick Vlastuin has never made an AA team. In Richmond’s recent glory days, he was surrounded by All-Australians defenders Alex Rance, Dylan Grimes and Bachar Houli, but could never break through himself. He’s made one squad and would have been agonisingly close to making a few others.

And Floss in 2025 ....

Richmond premiership stalwart Vlastuin ranks second for total intercept possessions with 77, behind only Sam Taylor’s whopping 91, but he’s first among general defenders. He’s also third for intercept marks with 33, behind only Taylor and Port Adelaide’s Aliir Aliir.

Vlastuin enters elite Tigers top 20 list

Nick Vlastuin has moved into the top 20 of Richmond’s all-time games played list.

The triple Tiger premiership star defender played his 244th game in last Friday night’s Dreamtime at the G’ blockbuster, taking him past dual Jack Dyer Medallist Brett Deledio on 243 and level with club great Brendon Gale.

He is one game away from 1969 premiership captain Roger Dean and seven from another triple flag Tiger in Kevin Sheedy.

Vlastuin, recruited by Richmond with its first pick (No. 9 overall) in the 2012 AFL national draft, has been an ultra-consistent performer throughout his playing career at the game’s top level, averaging 17.2 disposals, 5.9 marks, 4.0 rebound-50s, 6.1 intercepts and 265.2 metres gained.

He has finished in the top 10 of the Jack Dyer Medal count seven times, with a best result of runner-up last year.

This season, Vlastuin is averaging 19.0 disposals, 6.5 marks, 5.7 rebound-50s, 7.8 intercepts and 387.4 metres gained per match.

Competition-wide, he is ranked No. 2 for intercepts and No. 5 for rebound-50s.

Given he continues to maintain such a high level of form, and he’s only recently turned 31 years of age, Vlastuin appears a good chance to become just the eighth player in Richmond’s entire history to reach the 300-game milestone.

Who cares, it’s an even bigger joke award than the Brownlow. They completely lost me when picking Danger over Dusty in 2020
"The money might have been better. But, at the end of the day, Richmond showed faith in me. It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”

He'll never get one.

They'd rather have Tom Stewart.

Exactly, it is no more credible than winning a WWE title
