Lucky we have crawski to keep players feet firmly on the ground  >:(
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

how many players average much more that 15 possessions in their first 20 odd games?

21 yr olds playing on a wing in their third season who are physically near their peak,  most i would say. But hey i have expectations of all our players and am never satisified with mediocrity.
We aren't talking about some skinny little runt here who takes 5 years to get physically up to speed.

Nothing ever really changes with you blokes. You talk about improvement and the need for it but in reality are satisfied with plain old average. If your happy for our mids to get 15 disposals a game fine, but some of us want to win a premiership in our life times.
McIntosh needs to get better like a lot of our players do if we are to become a top 4 side. I dont know too many people who think differently to that. Obviously you do otherwise you would not be arguing the point.

The pace of the game takes a bit of getting used to as is following relatively complex game plans for the first time.
Taking both of those things into account, Kam had a very hood first season in the seniors.
He has the tools to improve too, and needs to.

Well done Kam!!!
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

You're basing his performance (or lack thereof) entirely on his weight and age.

Many players are a good weight but aren't physically mature yet. Their physique continues to change until they retire, even if their weight stays the same.

Kam still has physical maturing to do IMO, and has only played one season of AFL-level football. He will improve, but you're being harsh on him. VFL and AFL aint the same!

Yep, there is a difference between expecting a player to improve and being disappointed in someones performance. They do not automatically go hand in hand and in fact most people can be relatively happy with a kids performance because it's their first year but want them to get better.

If you say he is a first year player often enough

It might come true

It's his first year in the senior team and playing senior AFL footy. Do you disagree?

By that same token I would argue that the following players haven't done enough to please me:

Ben Lennon
Liam McBean
Todd Elton

How about we delist them all?

can you find anyone saying it's his first year on the list?

You've been twisting words as much as anyone around here.

We've just said it was his first year of senior footy. That's true and significant.

I've read first year repeatedly.

The fact is the current he's training for will be the 4th on the senior list

Actually interesting to watch his work rate.  I get claw's point about him needing to get it a bit more. (Though it does come across negatively the way claw says it.)

However the number of times Kam is deep in defence either offering an outlet or sweeping when there has been a turnover downfield is immense.  (Note:  B. Ellis is huge at this as well.)  A hit up half forward (B. Lennon and Lids) is needed.  The guys deep in the defensive 50 need a trusted hitup player to offer the "release".  Oleg, Lennon and Lids have the speed and/or marking ability to provide that.  Then add Yarran, Houli, Menadue, etc. sweeping past and we will look very, very slick at times.

The Freo and Hawks games from this season show that we can do it.  Just need a little more leg speed.  Ohh and Corey.  The first quarter vs Freo.   ;D ;D ;D

I was being facetious you knuckle-dragger.

But since the intent was lost on you I'll spell it out clearly.

If you're going to be critical of McIntosh because it's not his first year then what do you think of the aforementioned players?

I think Kam is doing a great job. Disposal needs tidying up. Work rate is exemplary. Has a lot of dash and is a very attacking footballer.
