Every AFL club’s player who must lift

For one reason or another, some of the game’s brightest talents didn’t have the season they would’ve liked.

Be it positional switches, injury or just plain old bad form, there’s certainly a lot of upside when it comes to 2024.

Foxfooty.com.au looks at a player from each club who’ll be desperate for a better season come next year.

...

Kamdyn McIntosh was another, dropping 47 per cent [re: player rating in 2023 compared to 2022].

I’ll say it until I’m blue in the face - you cannot play both wingers in defensive roles. The premiers of this year didn’t have either winger in defensive roles - and it ended up winning them the GF
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

When the ball is on the other side of the ground you can play a defensive roll but on your side you should be attacking.

He like a handful of other players still remaining from our dynasty years need to be phased out and fast. Players like kmac were very useful as role players when we had the game plan and star players to carry us but now I just don’t see any point in playing them ahead of the younger cubs. They could be even worse, but we’ll never know if they’re stuck in the reserves.

Bring in brown, sonsie (when suspension is finished), clarke, Bauer, Cumberland, mcauliffe, etc.

Another masterclass of nothingness from good old Sir Runsalot -never seen a bloke his size lose so many contests and be such and ineffectual tackler.....sick of seeing his flailing inflatable car yard man arms...so the question remains:

What exactly is the point of this bloke now? :huh

They probably think it’s a bit of stretch to replace 2 long standing wingmen in the side, but surely surely 1 of them can be dropped.

Maybe try him somewhere/anywhere else.

Our forward line looked so dismal today I think we really need to play a medium forward who will actually make a contest. Not saying KMac is that guy but I wouldn't get upset if ooze tried it.

Tom Brown on one wing and Sam Banks on the other. Play them.

He’s 30yo

Would you give up a late 2nd/early 3rd if you were the WA side ?

Tom Brown on one wing and Sam Banks on the other. Play them.

I don't think Banks has the tank to play 70%+ game time on the wing

I'd keep Brown in the backline, perfect replacement for Grimes

I'd consider putting Dan Rioli on the wing. Has the tank, the skill disposal wise for that role
