2013 Members Cocktail Party
« on: April 22, 2013, 10:54:12 AM »
Received an email invite late yesterday for this year's Members Cocktail Party at Crown

I deleted the thing straight away because I don't intend going  ;D

But for memory:

Date: 28th May (might the 29th  ;D but it's definitely late May)

Cost: $35 for Y&B, Platinum, Gold & Silver members
          $100 for Guests

If anyone still has the email feel free to correct anything I've got wrong

Didn't go but know a few who did.

Will be speaking to them later this morning

A mate said on twitter last night there were about 1200 people there. Nice little earner for the RFC seeing they now charge folks to go  ::)

It's only $35 for eligible members Jack

$100 for guest passes or as I tend to say $100 for the ring-ins who shouldn't be there

Actually don't believe they should sell guest passes.

Night should only be for those members eligble (Y&B, Platinum, Gold & Silver). It is after all supposed to reward folks for consecutive years of membership (that's why it was introduced) not be another revenue raised for the Club

(And yes I have told them this)

Would you agree with guests filling up the hole of the members that don't go?

No.

And before you ask why?

It is because there have members who have been eligble to attend in the past that have missed out on getting in because the club has sold guest passes to people who aren't eligble and they've filled the room.

Fantastic night! Got a large team photo for $10 which I thought was a bit steep at the time but after I got it signed by almost every single player on our list I was pretty happy. With be framing it now  :thumbsup

Food was great, drinks plentiful and players very approachable. 'Mr :shh' was the only negative but even he was a bit of a laugh trying to quiet the crowd each time someone spoke.

The players were very tight-lipped as you would expect. Most made small talk but Dusty struggled to even make eye contact with anyone. Vlaustin, Maric, McBean, Newman and King were all the most approachable and genuine.  :thumbsup

Some great scenery around too  :P

You're missing my point. Those people should get first crack but if they don't want to go shouldn't some guests be allowed to fill the gap?

Had a girl friend attend last night and said that Robin Nahas is an arrogant "you know what" and spoke down to people. She suggested he should go and learn some manners.

She also mentioned that Rance was really nice and very funny.

Vlastuin was nice to speak to too.

 :gotigers

She really wasn't happy with Robin Nahas and she is married with a young 9 year old boy.
