Last  night confirmed our need for a goal kicking skilful small forward is an absolute dire urgency. All top 8 sides have at least 1, need one to make and win finals. I cringed every time the ball hit the ground in our forward 50 last night as their tall defenders mopped up when a small forward should have been there. Surely somewhere in this vast land there is a talented Indigenous forward that fits this description, it really has to become our recruiters priority.

Why do they have to be Indigenous?
Excitement. Nothing like it IMO.
It's great for the game.
Imagine if Rioli was ours. How fantastic would that be.
It's probably not that important but it would be great if we had atleast one indigenous player.
Geelong have 4. Hawks have 4 or 5. The scum have 3. Freo have a few.
They add the X factor and excitement I love about this game.

Problem is we as a club we can't seem to recruit, develop or stop any of them successfully.
I don't know why but this annoys me.

I only want white players because they are consistent

i hope thats tongue in cheek and not purely racist comments

um.... this guy i'm thinking of would be very cheap, we play him strictly as a crumbing forward, no stints in the midfield.....

Aaron Davey  :shh

Melbourne have tried to make him a midfielder, we put him back where he belongs, in the F50 at the feet of the big forwards. He applies great defensive pressure, i'd mature age rookie him if he is delisted.
And you may not think I care for you

We are struggling to find one elusive skilful and quick and footy smart small or midsized forward while Geelong have Motlop, Stokes and Christensen running around along with Varcoe still to come back into their side  :-\. Our guys don't know the meaning of being front and square and so rarely have anyone at the fall of the ball from a pack situation in our forward line.

When all our mids are back that'll hopefully leave Edwards to do it

It really is frustrating that some teams ie. cats & blues seem to have plenty of those types and we can't seem to find one.
Isn't McDonough supposed to be a goal sneak?

I personally think that an indigenous forward is the most exciting type, someone with pure natural speed too that can do the miraculous things we all pay to see at the footy.
Problem is we just can't seem to find or develop any indigenous players.

I wouldn't necessarily associate the word 'skilful' with Kingy. He's not silky skilled; more of a hard nut.

Doesn't have to be indigenous and not every team has one (or more).  As our "small forward" Kingy goes ok, puts very very good pressure on the ball carrier and has enough tricks to compete.  That position is not our short suit.

I know a small forward doesn't have to be indigenous but I just like to see some black magic in our team. There's nothing better in my opinion. As good as Jake "Pins" King has been he hasn't got the x-factor of a black man.

X Factor means unreliable and overrated in my opinion.  Would rather an even effort every week than a flashy BOG every other month or so.

Still think a Wilie Rioli would round us off well!
We need a player that can make something out of nothing. That is what I define X factor as.

The goals he kicked against Port were of a high standard. His skills have definitely improved under Hardwick and he put in yet another fantastic performance. His work rate in the forwardline is very inspiring.
