I remember him (Houli) mentioning last year that under certain conditions in particular with regard to employment and being able undertake his job properly he can get special permission to break the fasting for short periods

nothing hs changed for me.
structure needs to be the following and it doesnt neccesarily have to be the following tall players.
b/  #### - chaplin - astbury
hb/ ####  - rance - ####  so that is one tall in astbury in. would play morris vlastuin and dea as the sml/med backs.

hf #### - riewoldt - #### .
f/ vickery - griffiths/mcguane/mcbean - #### .  in one of griffiths, mcguane,or mcbean, vickery plays as the floating ruckman forward. when hes in the ruck we at the least maintain two genuine kpfs. we could then use aaron  edwards as a medium.
would look to have s edwards play more as a sml forwrd and seeing as there are no other options kingy is the best of a bad lot to keep his place.

r/  maric - #### - ####  obviously in ivan who  changes with his ruck partner vickery both forward and on the bench.

mids onballers
cotchin, deledio, tuck, martin, foley, ellis, newman, conca, arnot, houli.

ins would go - astbury, maric, tuck houli one of griffiths, mcbean, mcguane.

outs would go batchelor, white, stephenson, jackson grigg.

I agree with the need for three proper talls at each end.

This is my overall best 22.

If Grimes was fit I would play him but I like Astbury as the first replacment.

If Knights was fit he would get Aaron Edwards spot. Given the current situation I would Helbig or McDonut.

b/ morris - chaplin - rance
hb/ ellis  - astbury/or Grimes - vlastuin
c/ deledio - tuck - ellis
hf/ newman - riewoldt - martin
f/  vickery - mcbean/or Griffiths -  s edwards
r/ maric - cotchin -  foley
int/   - arnot - conca - houli

no aaron edwards -

great minds think alike..  8)

Why are observers (myself included) differing so much from the selection panel.......ipso facto - game-plan first, players to suit that game-plan second. We haven't bought into the current game-plan as it hasn't reaped rewards against quality sides. The next 4 weeks will tell if it lives or dies.

I would argue that due to injury and selection decisions - we at time at missing half our our best 22.

Richmond v Gold Coast

Coming off their worst loss of the season expect Damien Hardwick to ring the changes for the trip to Cairns to take on bogey side Gold Coast. Brandon Ellis is touch and go after being concussed, while Matt Dea was quiet and Daniel Jackson is battling an ankle issue. First-year player Nick Vlastuin appears to have hit a wall and looks likely to be sent back to the VFL. Big inclusions with Bachar Houli, Shane Tuck and Ivan Maric all set to play.

An even bigger inclusion for the Suns though with captain Gary Ablett to play after missing last week's loss with a calf injury. Sam Day will miss with a groin injury with Matthew Warnock and Seb Tape in line to replace the key position player.

Coburg have a bye this weekend due to the VFL split round. So whoever gets dropped will be having the weekend off along with the rest of our non-22ers.
