agree HRT, at home against an opponent with those outs and playing to basically cement a spot in the finals, I will be bitterly disappointed if we don't have a red hot crack. If we bust a nut and get beaten by a better side I'll accept that, but we need to improve significantly on what we've shown in the last month or so which has been subpar.

With Rain and cold weather, every factor is in our favour. As usual, we know the supporters will show up but will the players?

Maric and Vickery particularly have no excuses

Honestly we are kidding ourselves if we can't beat them with those outs.

3 of those 4 destroyed us last year. Griffin was the other.

Lids must start at FF, no ifs buts or maybes or we effectively play a man down if he starts in the middle.

They don't have the talent a Geelong or Hawthorn have but along with the Swans, Freo are the best drilled side in the comp. Rest assured Ross Lyon will have them up for this and if it means they win 1.4.10 to 1.3.9 he will ensure they do it.

Given what hapenned at home against them last year and the misfortune of last time in Perth our boys need to respond appropriately given the reward of finals football is there dangling in front of them and our next two fixtures v last years GF sides.

Whilst a win in round 1 this year was season defining the more I think about it the more I see tomorrow as season defining also, as much as the four points are valuable in our campaign to play finals footy to also breaking our duck against a Ross Lyon coached side.

The rain will suit freo's flooding/rolling zone game plan. If we can't control the slippery ball they'll get to the contests. Hopefully it's a dry day

With Collingwood losing, it's season defining as far as a win means a strong chance of a home final at least and a top 4 finish not out of the question if Essendon are stripped of all their points; A loss though would have falling back towards the chasing pack.

With Rain and cold weather, every factor is in our favour. As usual, we know the supporters will show up but will the players?

Yep we can't go into the game stupidly thinking because it's going to be cold and raining that Freo won't like it. Wet weather will turn the game into a more contested, high-tackling slog which they will see as a strength of theirs. The same goes for foolishly thinking that no Sandilands, Pav, Ballantyne and McPharlin is going to make it automatically easier for us. Lyon coached teams are well drilled and in the wet it'll come down to who works harder, who gets more numbers to the contests and who gets first to the footy lower and harder. Just got to hope we don't get some dumb umpire(s) that starts over-officiating the new 'into the legs' rule when the ball will spend most of the time on the ground with bodies sliding everywhere.

Yes to the last sentence unless of course we get thr rub of those decisions due to the home ground advantage.
The Ross Lyon well drilled thing can play into our favour if we can take the game on. The Cats win came down to their players taking on the Dockers game plan and being more front footed when they and the ball in their hand.

Fremantle are a system not a team. They cover players much better than other side as everyone knows their role and everyone values frenetic defensive pressure above all else. As was evident last year at the 'G in wet weather, slippy conditions suits their game style far more than ours.

Feo use their midfielders to pressure oppositions defenders as they attempt to transition it out of defense and their their small forwards deep to then run the indecisive defender down from behind to turn the ball over in the Forward half. In wet conditions this works even more effectively and Mayne will have a field day if we don't blanket him.

This will be a game of stoppages and defense. I hope we don't bomb it long to a crowded forwardline and man up any extra defenders they drop back.

This is a season defining game but its certainly not a given with Freo's outs. If anything I think Freo are 60/40 to win and 70/30 if it rains.  :'(
