As I wrote in another thread, it's hard to attract good players when you have nothing to trade with!!!
Years ago pick 11 would have got Adams over the line but in this case GWS are after experienced players in the 24-26yo bracket, we just don't have anyone that were willing to part with in that age group.
You can blame the current recruiters all you like but this is still the flow on effect from the Wallace era. At least we're in the having a crack but unfortunately our cards just arn't strong enough.

Last year we was worth a pinch of poo and this year we stuffs it up again by winning the B&F ::)
As much as I'de love to put him on the table it just won't happen now :(

Fortune favors the brave

Jackson is the obvious one in that age bracket

Other options include Foley. Chaplin. Knights. Grigg. Shane Edwards. Houli.

Hard to see any of that materializing

Lids is the obvious one, Jackson would get it done but I don't think you'll find a club in the history of the game that has asked a guy to leave just weeks after he's won there B&F.......

No, Lids is a stupid notion. He is untouchable. As is Reiwoldt, Martin [if he doesn't OD], Cotchin.

Why would you trade Deledio for a former pick 11 in a diluted draft

Its a shame Jackson is apparently off the table due to adams being a perfect replacement/upgrade, and about five years younger fits our list profile beautifully

Deledio is a substantially more talented and vital player to Richmond than Jackson. I thought this was obvious

Houli is the obvious one as we can easily replace him, the problem being Houli is worth much more than Adams. So hypothetically GWS would have to add a sweetener to get that deal done.

It is obvious but unfortunately Lids didn't win the B&F this year and to be honest his form over the last two seasons has been well down on what we all believe he is capable of. If the club had balls we'd be offering up Lids for Pick 1 and Adams, that would be a shrewd move by the club and would show that we are a serious side.

lol. GWS would tell you to kick rocks if you offered them Houli and then said "throw in a sweetener to seal this deal ;) " :lol

Hahahaha, it seems the club has the same issue as most of our supporters in over rating our list :lol
Houli is worth a box of Jatz Crackers, one sided half back squib's are easily replaced, I can think of a couple of players already delisted by other clubs that would be an upgrade on Houli! A straight swap Houli for Adams would be a massive win for us but if you were GWS and had to chose from Varco, Shaw or Houli I know who IDE be taking ;D

Bents is right

All those names will get the job done

Sadly none of those names will eventuate. Dimma has his pets and Jackson, Grigg and S Edwards are 3 of those. Foley has currency loui. You don't think so?

See how the hawks done the job securing trades for hacks like hay and Williams

No ones saying straight swap for Adams but part of a deal

Daniel,
Foley has currency but is 28 so he doesn't fall into the category there after, the same reason GWS haven't jumped all over Shaw yet.
Now with Varco in the mix that trumps Grigg and Edwards and as I said Jackson let us all down by winning the B&F this year, unfortunately it gives him 12 months reprieve ::)
