and they are amongst the worst of the nut cases.

This thread, I thought, might be an on-going analysis of those who did get into the senate.

Seriously though I agree with you. As you know we have 3 dogs; 3 large dogs and their fortnight food bill is bigger than our fortnightly meat & vegies bill.

Some will also oppose his PPL scheme which isn't a bad thing but politically it could put Abbott in a bind if he fails to get it through the Senate given he's promised it.

What isn't a bad thing?

Tony's PPL scheme or that some will oppose it?

 

Opposing the PPL scheme would be a good thing. Taxpayer-funded welfare should only go to those that desperately need it.

As for the Senate vote with its proportional voting quotas, well we all knew the rules before this election and elections past. Too late to complain about it now as democracy is about accepting the electoral rules going into an election and then the electorate's decision even if you don't like the result  and even if you think afterwards the rules and a number of voters are stupid . That especially goes for anti-republicans who say the constitution is perfect as is and doesn't need any reform or change whatsoever  .

At least Sophie Mirabella lost her seat. One less nutter in parliament lol.

A Sex Party candidate who lives in Canberra is in the running to become a senator for Tasmania on a platform of making it Australia’s marijuana capital.



A distance of 1100km did not stop Robbie Swan from putting himself forward as a Senate candidate and campaigning for the island state to be turned into the nation’s ‘‘mull bowl’’

‘‘This would be worth $100 million a year just for Tasmania and it could be worth $2.4 billion - it was a serious policy,’’ Mr Swan said.

As of Friday Mr Swan was battling it out for the final Tasmanian Senate position, although experts considered him an outsider after polling less than 1.5 per cent and was most likely to be beaten at the post by the Palmer United Party’s Jacqui Lambie or Liberal Sally Chandler.

Tasmania already grows large quantities of poppies for morphine production.

The Sex Party candidate and long time territory resident said numerous states in America were loosening marijuana laws and Australia would soon be left behind.

Marijuana is de-criminalised in the A.C.T. so all the dope-heads can go there if they want. Same goes for those who want to buy fireworks. About the only 'activities' that exist after hours in Canberra .
