Lol @ Collingwood fans thinking they can get pick 2 for a 28 year old who doesn't want to be at the club and that Collingwood doesn't want anymore.
The Pies got a first rounder for Dawes off Melbourne (which enabled them to get Grundy) so perhaps they are hoping the Dees will be just as stupid giving up another first rounder for another Pie reject.

Only one problem, Collingwood inside man Neeld isn't there any more.  :lol

Roos didn't sound eager to hand over pick 2 for Shaw last night on on the couch when he was asked.

Yep just read on twitter that Shiels has asked to be traded back to Melbourne.

Adams and Shiels, any chance we can get both??

It was a bad day all round for the Giants, who not only lost out on Franklin but are understood to have been told by rising star midfielder Dylan Shiel that he wants to be traded to a Victorian club.

Shiel, 20, who finished fourth to Jeremy Cameron in this year's best-and-fairest award, is understood to have told the Giants he wants to return home after 33 games in two years.

He is the third GWS youngster so far to want out, following Josh Bruce, who will join St Kilda, and Taylor Adams, who is also poised to return to Victoria.

Throw the kitchen sink to get both Adams and Shiel IMHO.

A mate at work said to me that he had heard that the Blues have offered/ will offer Hampson and Robinson for both Shiels and Adams. If that were true, and GWS were considering it, I doubt it would be hard to trump.

I think it comes down to want versus need. Do we really need one or both Adams and Shiels? I would argue that we would need one, maybe not both - though we would want both. It would come down to what GWS want and need as well (obviously).

Question for those in the know, do GWS still have a larger list than all other AFL teams, and over the course of the next 1-3 needs to trim it to be inline with the lists of all other teams? Because if thats the case, I would suggest we couldn't get away with a >2 Richmond players for 2 GWS players. It would have to be even numbers (ie 2 for 2). I also don't think that a first round pick should be included forn the above reasons and that GWS want established players.

I'd vote for Foley and Griffiths/ Batchelor if that was enough - though I highly doubt it would be. Would have to tag along in another trade (the Bruce to St Kilda deal, or the Delany to St Kilda deal etc).

Hard to trump? you are joking right. those 2 are very average footballers.

Ramps is right throw the kitchen sink at getting both of them.

450k a peace and offer up grimes and foley/edwards and picks

be bold tigers make the move.

THIS - Dont want to lose Grimes but you have to give something to get something. Foley and Edwards are expendable especially Foley. In a perfect world they would take Foley and Edwards and 11 but they would most likely take Grimes & Edwards. Nevertheless I would still do the deal. Hartley managed to get Chaplin, he can probably find another 3rd back somewhere in 12 months.

Shiel is better than Adams. Is just as tough but is much quicker and has far better agility. We must have him!

Get it done Tiges!  :clapping

He said he doubts it would be hard to trump.

Geez the Blues are dreaming if they think those two hacks could get them 2 young guns mids.

I said I doubt it would be hard to trump. Meaning it will be very easy. And on a side note, describing Hampson and Mitch Robinson as average footballers is a slight on average footballers.

I don't like offering up a starting key position backman for a midfielder in return. Considering how long it has taken us to get a solidified back line. Would do Foley and Edwards though.

sorry i read it incorrectly.

I dont think Edwards has much currency to be honest. His a one trick pony who cant even play midfield if his life depended on it.

Foley may, but Grimes is the one IMV who goes for me
