Didn't whacko get the 3?

He did but Ablett inconceivably got 1 vote in the same game. Jacko beat him easily. No way should Gaz have got a vote in that game

Is it me or is this early start to the AFL season as flat as an overcooked pancake  :-\

Round 1 games should big games at the big venues like the MCG

Think the AFL has stuffed up on this early start/split round nonsense  ;D

TBH I think 3 split rounds a season is nonsense. The draw is ridiculous and in a relatively even competition, a teams fortune is directly tied in with the draw they receive. Bite the bullet and drop it to a 17 round season plus finals and throw in a legitimate State of origin to make up the shortfall. players get an extended off season break and can quit their whingeing.

It's not just you, I can't understand this stupid fascination with having round 1 split over two weeks, and on top of that, drawing meh games for the opening round.

It should be a footy feast. Blockbuster Friday night, games on Saturday at 1:10, 2:15, 4:30 and then the 2 Saturday night games. Sunday 1:10, 4:40 and West Coast/Freo derby at 7:30 (our time) Sunday night.
And you may not think I care for you

You're 100% correct. That's how it should be. I love me some footy but the season is too long and the draw is clearly an unfair lottery but..... The AFL will  never do it due to the TV rights deals.

could spin the sell

less games makes each game more important or in demand, more bums on seats, more viewers tuning in and suddenly like the NFL it cost you a $100 to sit in the nosebleeds

Hi I'm up here and ready to rumble.
The lady at where we are staying said it was free public transport to Metricon, no parking, you just need to show your ticket..  Apparently one of the buses from the main drag will take us out there.
