We would even lose an intraclub if we play like we did tonight.

Think l just watched the worst game of my life. Whats with all this short kicks.  :banghead
l knew if we took this game lightly we would be beat. Too many players who need to wake up.  :banghead

disgraceful performance  :banghead
oh cmon monksy. we didnt take the gme lightly please no excuses there arent any.
beaten by melb pre season  and now gcs  in the  season proper in a disgraceful performance.  if anyone still has any misgivings about how even the comp is, then those doubts should now be dispelled.
the 22 we fielded tonight will struggle to make the 8.

that 22 wont be taking the field next week l can tell you that
that whole performance was disgraceful from 21 players involved including the coaching staff. We could not over run 20 players Thomas l thought was the only solid performer in perfect conditions, Just goes to show what sort of wake up needs to be done down there. l dont like chip kicking football & over use & everyone up. Astbury is a terrible footballer as is Edwards

That game reminded me of the Port game in Darwin a few years back. The ball was like soap for us but GC handled it easily. That's where we mostly lost it I reckon. Easy marks slipping through hands. Failing to 'one grab' it off the turf all night. That combined with one of the worst performances from a key fwd I've ever seen. Vickery will be in the team next match we all know that so it's payback time Ty. You need to kick a bag against Carlton

Not many positives. Hampson and Thomas were ok in their first game. McDonough got better as he got used to the pace.
Plenty of negatives. Vickery obviously , Conca was poor , Foley ? Hmmm he might be done.Grigg can't or won't tackle.

Oh well , gotta beat Carlton in 2 weeks. No effin excuses.

Yeah without a doubt, McDonough and Thomas looked pretty good.

Grigg's disposal was terrible all game. Lots of blokes looking rough and sluggish.

What a shame, but I guess the Suns aren't a pushover anymore either. Becoming a bogey team...

We still haven't solved either the issue of an opposition kicking a bag of goals in a short period of time. 4 goals in 10 mins in the first got the Suns on their way and then another 4 goals in 6 mins in the last finished us off. They only kicked 4 goals for remaining 3.5 qtrs. So we just caved in too easily once again when it mattered and which is why our harshest critics say we have a soft underbelly. Our middle tier has a terrible night and too much was left to Cotch and Lids to try and get us over the line.

The real worry is that GC genuinely looked a class above in every aspect -and they didn't even play at their best. Just another side we'll watch pass us as we spend our fourth consecutive decade treading water.
