Petterd lacks composure and is a mediocre kick at best. Batchelor and Dea are better in both departments and would easily do the same job in defence but with better rebound. Constantly rushing Petterd back from injury to go straight into the side was very annoying to watch. Was bad enough he played games when he was fit while Batchelor and Dea played at Coburg. Petterd doesn't even stand out at Coburg. There's only 3 or 4 players who would come straight in after a 3 week injury. Dimma treats him like one of these players rather than the 35th best player at the club which he is

Hard to stand out a Coburg when you aren't playing there  ;D

Regarding Batchelor I would think it was pretty clear after reading Tim Clarke's comment the other week about Batch (the "In Focus" articles) why he wasn't getting games at AFL level. And if that isn't clear enough get a copy of the N0rt game from this season and it will shine like a beacon  ;D

Petard is a better footballer than dea and bathchelor that's why he played finals and they didn't
Then why not delist them if they are that deficient.

They will delisted if they dont overtake him in 2014, both of them

Pettard isnt good enough, but Batch and Dea havent overtaken him, and in Batchs case in particular he wont.

All three will probably be off the list at the end of next year.

There is no way they will delist Petterd, the coaches love him for some reason. mt is spot on, was strange to see how desperate they were to play him, rushing him in on the back of a badly interrupted preseason and throughout the season even when he was clearly nqr physically

people need to go back and re-read the coaches comments on Dea this year

consistently getting 25+ touches while shutting down his direct player (Morris-like) and providing forward run

Also - mattydea has a basketball background and was always a project player? Wasn't miller hiding behind trees vscoutig him? Should be granted time to come good.

Have you ever watched Dea at AFL level? :lol

totally appalled at this decision should have kept him on the rookie list and demanded he improve some pretty shoddy areas of his game if he wishes promotion.
has cost us a chance to draft another kid at pick 50.

If we overlooked the likes of Byrne-Jones and picked the likes of Gordon & Lloyd instead because we intend to persist with playing Petterd in defence and regard him as part of our backline depth then that's just as laughable as it is ludicrous.

That doesn't even make sense. We took Gordon over Byrne-Jones because we rated him higher.
