Great result and to see the growth in revenue. Still need to increase our membership revenue extensively, don't the pies hawks and bombres all get over 10mill from membership?

Merchandise and membership will grow again, hopefully corporate $$$ grows the most that's what separates the financial giants from the rest in this comp

Wot?? How do you propose we do that? And please don't suggest increase membership fees. Please!

On a member basis analysis we dont get enough money out of our membership sales. We need to increase revenue per member by $40 to $50 each at least or we need to get our membership sales up much higher. One way to increase revenue by membership is to try and get all of our members to buy reserve seats with there memberships.

Received a copy of the full financials today.

Have had a quick look and will have a proper read later

But so far from what I've read they are excellent numbers

Well done RFC  :clapping

And well done to us the supporters  :clapping

Disagree, $6mil + m'ship revenue is a good number. Then take away the membership costs for 2014 and I can assure you the club has made a very handy profit margin on memberships. It's not just about the amount of revenue it's also about the amount of costs incurred

With growth in m'ship levels revenues are going to naturally increase

Re: reserved seats, although I agree in theory with the MCG being our home ground the nessessity of people needing a reserve seat is not as great. So our reserve seat sales are not going to be a great. Coupled with that I would think the fact they've increased the cost of certain reserved seats by nearly $100-$120 over the last 2 years 92013-2014) means they've received good boost in revenues at that level

I think the area they need to look at improving their numbers on is at the Coterie level. As the saying goes there's "money for jam" in those.

And I know I harp on this year after year but I reckion if they they re-introduce a membership category for people who genuinely can't get to games and charge say $50 offer a few RFC branded items the profit margin on that would be high. More "money for jam"  ;)

Agree  :bow

But the one of the most pleasing number for me is the increase sponsorship & marketing revenue. Final over the $20mil mark. Granted it includes the FTF monies it is still a good result.

Actually to have passed the $40mil mark in revenues is an excellent achievement

Disappointed that again we have no idea how much the FTF has raised this year. Would like to know that number and how it's compares to the previous 2 years

No I don't tony_m

Pies and Eagles haven't released their financial results for the year yet and I have no idea what's on the Hawks web-site

I don't normally bother with them to be honest but I can try and find out if you want

Yet you can get the papers for Tony which would take much longer. A prediction consumes about 20 secs of your time. You could have given one like 3 or 4 times by now

Err,, no....would think increasing Member numbers (eg selling more membership) would do the trick  ;D

I'm behind the club if they decide to up the membership cost.
Think of it this way - 70,000 members and put the cost up by a measly $15.00 is over $1m big ones! Also as the member numbers grow many will move towards reserve seats so there is more money there.
Also this result puts RFC in the top three or four clubs financial results for 2013. Only Hawthorn, Collingwood and maybe West Coast have done better.

I think most members can live with a $15 increase in fees, but we need to be careful as a club not to exclude those who might be struggling financially. Any more than say a 5% annual increase might be forcing others out of a club they've supported for decades - including those years when we were poo.

Hawks won't get beyond 65K. We actually had over 64K for this year but capped it off at about 60K. 70K will be easy next year. Collingwood are aiming at 100K. We will be number two in 2014.
Regarding revenue from marketing and sponsorship Collingwood had a record revenue of over $19m - http://www.afr.com/p/lifestyle/sport/joint_venture_apparel_contract_pays_1vV5Jsb8OS5nFXlewnyxiM

Thanks for that link

Article says their total revenue in 2012 was $69.6mil

Quote
Pert would not reveal how much revenue the club will make from merchandise this year. Collingwood does not separate merchandise sales in its annual report, instead grouping it with marketing and sponsorship income. Combined, those three sources accounted for about $19.1 million in revenue in 2012.

The club last year reported a record net profit of $7.8 million last year, from revenue of $69.6 million. The profit included almost $3 million in annual AFL funding, which Collingwood has chosen to use in the redevelopment of its training facility.
