WP  do you know how our membership and marketing revenue compares to say Pies, Hawks, Eagles? and total revenue?

No I don't tony_m

Pies and Eagles haven't released their financial results for the year yet and I have no idea what's on the Hawks web-site

I don't normally bother with them to be honest but I can try and find out if you want

Yes and while you're at it we'll have your membership prediction for them and pies

I am going to make this as clear as I can for you Mrakov, for the absolute final time!!!!!!!!!

I am not interested in Hawthorn or Collingwoods membership numbers so I wont be making any prediction because I simply don't care

Yet you can get the papers for Tony which would take much longer. A prediction consumes about 20 secs of your time. You could have given one like 3 or 4 times by now
Hawks won't get beyond 65K. We actually had over 64K for this year but capped it off at about 60K. 70K will be easy next year. Collingwood are aiming at 100K. We will be number two in 2014.
Regarding revenue from marketing and sponsorship Collingwood had a record revenue of over $19m - http://www.afr.com/p/lifestyle/sport/joint_venture_apparel_contract_pays_1vV5Jsb8OS5nFXlewnyxiM

How do you know Collingwood are aiming for 100k? Have you got proof ?

The Bombers made a trading loss of $3.2 million this year. Technically they made a 'profit' though due to $5m in donations/grants for their new Airport West training facility.

The Pies on the other hand made a profit of $5 million this year while Brisbane lost $1.5m.

Nice profit Collingwood, on the back of consecutive finals appearances, a flag and a grand final loss.

I'd like to see what our profits will look like when we have a successful run like this.  :gotigers

I don't have the RFC full financials with me so I can't answer the question re our Footy dept spend

However, what we do know is our footy dept spend increased by $1.69mil

While the Pies only increased their's by $1.3mil

Any club making a profit these days is doing well IMHO

Geelong has made an operating profit of just $148,000 even though they finished top 4 again. Mind you their turnover is $56m.

It would be interesting to compare membership revenues, considering we all crap on about how important us supporters are to the cause.
I wonder if we - the supporter - generate more revenue than the scum, the filth, the rabble and the Tassie hawks.
Maybe Benny can post how he won't stand for it any longer that the scum get more membership revenue than us?
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Unfortunately the Financials don't say

We (RFC) only disclosure at the required level, they don't "drill down" to that sort of finite details

Break up of the $44.8 mil is

Football                                 $15.565
Sponsorship & Marketing          22.932 (believe the FTF monies are included in this line)
Gaming & Social                        5.549
Interest rec'd                            0.075
JDF Contributions                      0.725

from the first page of this thread

Record net membership revenue of $6.35 million, representing 60,321 members

Pretty sure, pies got about 14 mill revenue from membership last year, hawks and dons over 10. Numbers may be off a little as Im only going by memory but do distinctly recall thinking "stuff" when seeing the comparisons

Thanks for that

But the key word is NET though tony_m

That means that figure is total revenue less expenses

Our Financials says m'ship expenses for the year was $2.219 mil

So our revenues only from m'ship is around $9 mil

Also important to note that the Pies & Dons charge more for a lot of their memberships.

In relation to the Pies I would suggest that their m'ship revenue figure is boosted by the number of premium membership/coteries they sell. You have to pay a massive premium to guarantee access to GF tickets, unlike the RFC

Think coterie memberships is an area that has great potential for the RFC if they market them the right way and offer good value for money. Sell more of them then your revenues will raise

Good pickup WP, cheers. 9 mill last year total revenue vs 11 etc seems more plausible than almost 50%less.
