I am more confident Lennon will stay now.

@AFLTrade: There is still work to do to get Ben Lennon a new contract at Richmond but the Tigers are hoping that he will sign soon. #AFL #AFLTrade

Just sign the contract Ben. You've done nothing yet.

Lennon's manager is on SEN:

* Fair to say, the club's offer is still a way off from what Lennon and his manager wants.

* Speaking to Dan Richardson today about the contract.

* Lennon wants to remain at Richmond and that's what we are working towards. It's just about going through a process.

AFL trades 2015: Ben Lennon’s future at Richmond still to be decided
22 minutes ago

THE future of Richmond youngster Ben Lennon remains up in the air, with his manager confirming there is still “work to do” before he pens a new deal.

The 20-year-old is out of contract following the conclusion of the 2015 season and has attracted the interest of a number of rival clubs.

Carlton is believed to be one side closely monitoring his current situation.

But his manager, Anthony McConville, has revealed he remains “hopeful” he will be at the Tigers next year.

“I’ll be getting on the phone to have another chat to (Richmond general manager) Dan Richardson today,” he told Trade Radio.

“At this point in time, we’ve still got a bit of work to do to make sure that a deal gets done.”

However, McConville confirmed Lennon is keen to finalise a deal with the Tigers.

“I’m hoping he will be at Richmond and I’m working towards that outcome,” he said.

“Suffice to say, there’s been no considerable interest from outside clubs. They’re the market forces at play.

“The priority is to try and remain at Richmond, Ben’s hoping to remain at Richmond, so we’ll work towards that outcome.

“I’m not going to mention potential (suitors). Obviously, Carlton has been mentioned, but there is a number of other clubs.

“My view is he will be a Richmond player next year.”

Lennon has played 16 games with Richmond, having been selected with pick 12 at the 2013 national draft.

He was awarded a Rising Star nomination in Round 22, but was dropped a fortnight later ahead of Richmond’s elimination final against North Melbourne.

We're probably going to wait and see what is left in the kitty for Lennon after the trade period.

Lennon's future at Tigerland remains in doubt

TALENTED forward Ben Lennon's future at Richmond remains in doubt, with the Tigers still yet to sign the uncontracted youngster.

The 20-year-old, the No.12 pick in the 2013 NAB AFL Draft, played the last eight home and away games this year before being controversially dropped for the elimination final against North Melbourne.

Lennon's manager Anthony McConville told NAB AFL Trade Radio on Thursday that Lennon was disappointed by the omission, and although his intention was to remain at Tigerland, it was no certainty.

"I'll be getting on the phone to have another chat with (Richmond football manager) Dan Richardson today," McConville said.

"We've still got a bit of work to do to make sure that a deal gets done.

"He was disappointed (to be dropped). Any player's disappointed when they're left out of a final.

"He's played 16 games over two years, which some would say is a fair effort. His expectation is very high of himself.

"He's just come off another hip operation so he's been limited in his preparation for the first two years.

"Going forward into another pre-season fully fit, we expect a lot of Ben next year, as I'm sure Richmond do.

"There's been considerable interest from outside clubs. Ben's hoping to remain at Richmond, so we'll just work towards that outcome."

F him off if he wants too much.

We already paid way overs for the early years of Vickery, Conca and Martin. They all got $300-400k+ so that we could retain them when they weren't worth it. Only Martin has lived up to his potential and is deserving of this kind of money.

If Lennon thinks 16 games in 2 years whilst being injury prone gives him the right to ask for more money just because other clubs are interested then we should trade him straight off. Get a first round pick for him...
