BEN LENNON

RICHMOND should begin to throw the house at young gun Ben Lennon in order to convince him to remain at the club.

That is the opinion of Western Bulldogs legend and Fox Footy analyst Brad Johnson, who says the Tigers would be starting to get concerned about the fact he is yet to re-sign.

“If I was at Richmond, I’d be starting to fight as hard as I could to make this deal happen,” he told Fox Footy’s Market Watch.

“Richmond is in a great position at the moment where they’re playing finals. His growth will continue with his own personal development.

“If he goes to Carlton, he’s not going to get anywhere near finals. He might get some games under his belt, but I think with where Richmond is at he’s going to be in that line-up.

“He could be the difference between Richmond jumping into the top four over the next two or three years, with his ability as a link-up player.”

Lennon, a former first-round draft pick, has played 16 games in two years with Richmond and was nominated for the Rising Star in 2015.

He is out of contract at season’s end and is yet to renew at Tigerland.

Why has the club and Dan Richardson left it so late to resign him is it the club or Lennon himself because if it's the club I would sack all involved. If it's Lennon and his rejecting contracts over $$$ after only being at the club for 2 seasons and being lazy at times in the VFL well he can pee off for me goodbye.

Its not his fault the idiotic coach of ours played Newman and Gordon types ahead of him

Wake up. Newman played more games so let's offer him a contract hey?

Conca missed how many games but yep straight to the final ahead of Lennon. I know who I would have preferred

In a way I'm kind of hoping it will happen and heads will finally roll

Currently a member of the Roupies, and employed by the great man Roup.

It's true? Really?

Not having a go at you Jack but I'll ask you what I asked other know this how?

Fact is no one knows, it's all speculation

And BTW if he is asking for double and he was on the standard base wage for a 1st round draft pick then he isn't asking for much, he'd be asking for around $280k (including match payments) a year which would be in the average ball park range for a 3rd year player who was a 1st rounder...

Just think about what you just said.

In the real world you would expect guys that have been at a job for a few years to be on more coin than a relative newbie. However, if that newbie is a star, he will make his way up the ranks faster and will have a long and secure career.
The others will stagnate in their positions and are likely to be replaced in the organization.

Exactly what is likely to happen here if Lennon stayed........
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

TBH I don't know WP. He may stay or he might leave. Only the club, his manager or Ben have any idea. The rest is speculation. As I put in a post earlier, it didn't sound good when Lids talked about our youngsters improving and being future stars and Lennon wasn't even mentioned. You would have thought he was second only to C. Ellis in junior talent at the club.......

Dan Richardson is on Trade Radio now

Says they are very confident Lennon will re-sign

Very interesting things he said

Once the summary is up on the AFL website I'll post it

If he s demanding 400-500k a yeR which is my mail, he s gone , kammy Mac who's twice the player would have just signed on for considerably less  :shh

How sure are u he's twice the player?  :whistle
Then he grabbed two chopsticks and stuck them in his mouth , pretending to be a walrus
