Dan Richardson is on Trade Radio now

Says they are very confident Lennon will re-sign

Very interesting things he said

Once the summary is up on the AFL website I'll post it

Hope so but need to sign him up quickly.

just to elaborate in case that was too cryptic

a young player not getting games not does automatically mean the young player is rubbish

says more about the people drafting him, coaching him, selecting him for the seniors

 - and he is similar to lids in various ways bo. they mark similar. they kick similar. do you want them to have the same haircuts?

Stuffen sooky Gen Y flog.  I hope we trade him to teach anyone else with a similar 'me me me' attitude that they are not welcome at RFC

Tigers confident unsigned Lennon will stay

RICHMOND general manager of football Dan Richardson says Ben Lennon will almost certainly be a Tiger next year, despite him not having yet signed a new contract.

The 20-year-old was the No.12 pick in the 2013 NAB AFL Draft but was dropped for Richmond's elimination final against North Melbourne earlier this year.

However, Richardson told NAB AFL Trade Radio on Thursday that Lennon was happy at the Tigers and will continue to wear the yellow and black.

"Ben's certainly not disgruntled," Richardson said.

"Like any player would be, he was disappointed to miss out on selection in that last game.

"Ben's really happy at Richmond, we want him to stay. I'm really confident he'll stay."

Richardson said the issues between the club and player had come down to figuring out a contract that both parties could be happy with.

"We've been really strong in what we're trying to achieve with our player payments," he said.

"Over the last few years, getting all our players to buy in to the fact that if you want to have success and stay together, there may be some sacrifices that need to be made.

"Ben's just getting his head around that and I'm sure he will."

Its not his fault the idiotic coach of ours played Newman and Gordon types ahead of him

Wake up. Newman played more games so let's offer him a contract hey?

Conca missed how many games but yep straight to the final ahead of Lennon. I know who I would have preferred

In a way I'm kind of hoping it will happen and heads will finally roll
Are you sure about this?
So who will be angry? Penny? Benny?
Who's going to roll heads at punt road?
 :lol
Don't think anyone will do anything of the sort. It's a happy family at Tigerland and everyone is supposedly working their backsides off to help us improve.  :rollin
Get ready for the spin if he goes for nothing.

I think he will walk for nothing in PSD
Club will pat themselves on the back saying we set an example and don't need his kind.

Perhaps in hindsight could have played him in the final and increased his trade value and if he decided to stay at least we keep a quality player.

Club are to honest and gullible at times,  >:(

From Twitter where it all seems to happening

@theafloffseason: Tigers revising offer to Ben Lennon. Will be surprised if he doesn't stay. Could be done today.

I as going to call him a money hungry SOB but since he has signed I've changed my mind.

He is a fine young lad that will be proud to wear the tiger guernsey for many a year!  :snidegrin
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.
