Well the Poms managed to win by the whopping margin of 3 runs.

Did anyone actually want to win this test?

How could the Aussies get so close today, how could the Poms let the Aussies get so close today?

I have to say there was some really stupid and I mean stupid cricket played during this test match by both teams

Actually, they only won by 2 runs...Only one test has had a winner with a smaller margin, with the Windies beating Australia by one run at Adelaide Oval about 10-12 years ago.

yeah sorry about that - I didn't type that too well did I ??? What I was trying to say very poorly was we failed by 3 runs  :-\

I wonder if Australia will make any changes for the the 3rd test?

Old Trafford takes spin so I wouldn't be surprised if MacGill comes in for either Gillespie or Kaspa.

And I'd seriously consider giving Hayden a rest :help

Hayden not batting well at all ... but I think he will retain his place comfortably. His first-slipping for Warne is probably enough. One of the disadvantages of such a settled side is that guys like Hodge and Hussey havent really had a chance to show if they are up to test match cricket.

On the surface of it, MacGill could be brought in, but there are a few issues. Firstly, he tends to be a LOT less accurate than Warne - Flintoff and Pietersen could really take to him. Secondly, perhaps the English batsmen would start working out how to play legspin bowling if they were to see it from both ends for extended periods, and thirdly, Warne in the past has ahd less impact when MacGill plays.

I'd like to see Tait in. Either Gillespie or Kaspa has to go. It really should be Gillespie (2 wickets out of 40), but I have a feeling that Kaspa will be a scapegoat and never play for Australia again...

Their decision making is as dodgy as umpire Billly Bowden's when it comes to LBWs. When the ball hits outside the line  it's NOT out and when it does it's OUT! Not the other way around Billly  ???.
