Tigers set to re-sign Tyrone Vickery Jon Ralph, Jay Clark
From: Herald Sun
February 26, 2014 RICHMOND is set to secure another of its first-round draft picks to a new deal with key forward Tyrone Vickery on the verge of committing to a contract extension.
The Tigers will be thrilled to secure Vickery, as clubs increasingly turn their attention to out-of-contract youngsters such as Taylor Adams, who joined Collingwood from Greater Western Sydney.
The Tigers will soon announce a deal of as many as three years with emerging 23-year-old Vickery, after securing Dustin Martin, Jack Riewoldt, Nick Vlastuin, Brandon Ellis and Trent Cotchin in the past year.
Vickery becomes even more important to the Tigers after No.1 ruckman Ivan Maric had ankle surgery on Monday. Vickery will have to help out in the ruck as well as aiming to improve on his 27 goals last season.
