Helbig and Miles leading the Tigers stats to half time.

Miles should be in the ones. He seems to be a very good young player.

it depends how  you see development. for me if the reserves can produce 2 or 3 players a year for senior action and those players can come through then for me  the reserves will be a total success if they win every game and become premiers but dont produce any players then for me that would be a total failure. Its how you set the criteria for development. just my opinion.

Agree Ramps, not sure why people are so hung up on the reserves results especially this early on? Coaches will want certain players playing and developing a particular role that will suit the senior team should they get the call up - which wont always suit or serve the reserves with the best chance of getting the result.

When young players are dropped from the seniors to reserves they are given a list of things to work on, - at Coburg with the limited numbers it wasn't always possible for our players to play the specific role our coaches wanted - now they can and that's more important than results for mine

Exactly, I've been banging on about it all along

VFL side is about development first and results 2nd

No point in stressing about the VFL results  ;D

How do you figure that when we are getting pumped by 12 goals to 1 since qtr time that we are developing?? How the hell can our players develop when they don't touch the ball???

Stats to half-time: Helbig 14 disposals, Young 12, Lennon 11, Miles 11.

Three 50m penalties we've given away in this 3rd term.

Anyone who accepts this result as developing our players is delusional!!

Trains are every 20 mins FYI...
surely one of bathie or barlow will play as a kpd. even for state league footy that is a very short starting backline.

for ffs where are all of our devekloping kpps. after all the vfl is all about development rather than wins isnt it.

oh really pleased to see helbig played in defense along with lennon. tall backs aside not a bad side will miss orren though. but geez no orren where in hell  is the developing ruckman. oh poo i forgot we dont have one on the list.
Ummm..McBean has been rucking. Pretty sure that counts as development.
oh okay so mcbean is a ruckman now wish you lot and the club would make your minds up.

i have just one question. what exactly does mcbean look most like becoming. i will give a hint front line ruck is not one of em so where in hell is the developing ruckman..

where in hell is the developing kpds and elton aside where in hell are the kpfs.

aand just to finish the problem at coburg has been the thrashings week after week seems now we have our own team those thrashings continue. you wont develop jack poo under those circumstances.
for me if you cant even compete you dont question  development but the quality of the players in your system. are our magoos good enough.

to me the reserves should be an exact mirror of the seniors in those reserves you should have a dozen players who can come in and perform at senior level when injuries hit or poor form arises. yet the magoos are totally uncompetetive and any player coming in will be coming in on the back of hidings. yep just perferct for development and confidence eh.
