Not sure what we do during half-time down at Punt Rd (drink milo?) but we regularly come out afterwards half asleep, lacking the intensity and forgetting the quick  gamestyle that got us half-time leads.

FITNESS

We are miles away from other clubs.
I actually agree that lack of fitness compared to other clubs is part of the problem but we are also mentally fragile and dumb. When you're 6 goals up at half-time you know the opposition has one more shot. So you know if you have a big first 10 minutes of the third quarter you can put them away for good and break any remaining spirit of theirs. We come out instead half asleep. No killer instinct!

Goal to Azz Edwards! He receives the ball on the boundary and snaps from the pocket. A handy goal and his second for the game.

I was suss after our rnd 1 loss to gold coast even though they were 2 men down before halftime, and then getting overrun by carlton game in round 2 when they were underdone confirmed it. As the season progresses and we get match hardened it will be less of an issue, but gee wiz we are miles off it early on in the season, obviously our preseason program is not good enough

Yet Burge was claiming over the preseason we had only done 80% of the program prior to 2013 and it would be ramped up to the full program prior to this season  :-\.

I wonder if the cap on interchanges has hurt us more than most.

The problem of fitness has been exaggerated by ridiculous split rounds meaning we have had a couple of longer breaks (as is the case this week) which seems to put back our match hardening and keeps us behind other teams.

Sorry guys, I nearly choked on a Frankston sausage!
Crap quarter, skills were woeful and we just didn't work for it.
Vickery was slightly better that quarter as was Lennon and Edwards.
Big last quarter conning up.

Dominating the first 5 minutes just can't get it on the board. 2 points and an out on the full from 3 shots.
