Hardwick's post-match media conference

Hardwick's post-match press conference ....

* Cause of the loss? Sydney's intensity in the 3rd qtr. They had 15 inside 50s to none as one stage. They got two goals which brought the game back into their domain. Lots of pressure and a lot of rolling mauls which is how they play.

* We did a lot right but not on the scoreboard where it matters.

* I thought we stood up for most of the game but just didn't get the job done when it mattered.

* Dropped mark on the goal line and keeping the ball in on the boundary line which lead to a Buddy goal. These are the silly mistakes which we are making and that we need to cut out of our game.

* Umps took a long time to blow the whistle. Just ball it up! Umps are asked to wait and wait and When they finally do ball it up, they do it quickly which doesn't give time for players to move out. The umps have a very hard job under the way they are instructed to umpire.

* Dimma praised Dusty's game.

* We are a better side than 3-10 but the fact is we are 3-10. We're well short of where we need to be. We aren't giving up on the season and we owe it to our members and supporters to play to win and gain back their respect.

* Crowd of 34k was indicative of us being 3-10.

* Low score/inside 50s to possessions? Credit to Sydney but we need another dominant forward. Vickery is back next week while we lost Griffiths for 3 weeks. Jack did well early but we didn't get much from Edwards or Hampson. Our delivery inside 50 wasn't that good either.

* Miles has been very good. Puts his head where it needs to be. Has really impressive me and the AFL in general.

* Hampson's ankle is fine. We got through the game injury free which is a nice change.

Also heard - we owe it to the fans to win games of football  - so forget about deledio, Morris being rested to get better and forget about him giving games to Ohanlon, Arnott, Helbig

you owe it to the fans to think about the future....and blood the kids...not play the likes of A. Edwards, Newman etc.
at most of the season, we don't care that much about winning games...

Didn't he drop Griffiths not lose him for 3 weeks?  ::)

That's more the cause of Sydney winning.
No accountability for poo performances.

TBH, I'm happy we lost.

Yeh and tonites presser was the first sign to me that Dimma might be broken ? He seemed rattled and bereft of any ideas. That rubbish about missing our key forwards Vickery and Griffiths ( I think he mentioned Hampson too ) and most of everything else he said is indicative of where his mindset is. That was his least impressive media performance since he's been at Richmond
I feel like we're rudderless.

I reckon the umps caused the rolling mauls. They were terrible last night

TBH, I'm happy we lost.
