Listen to these stuffing whiney bunnies?  For a start he was just gonna give him a nudge in the back of the shoulder but ended up stuffing it up and clubbing him one.  Anybody would think he took a stuffing axe to the back of his bonce or something.  Do these pricks even live on the same planet as me?  Have they even been hit, do they play soccer or something?  Oh wait, Galbally QC... that pricks hardest choice in life would be whether to eat the food placed in front of him or throw himself out of a stuffing window ...  Wtf would he know about being hit ?

Totally disagree with the comments of Galbally. Conca's behaviour was not criminal. To suggest he should be charged with unlawful assault is totally inappropriate.

Hardwick backs Conca to learn from 'selfish' act

DAMIEN Hardwick believes Richmond midfielder Reece Conca will learn from the "selfish" act that felled Greater Western Sydney's Devon Smith and cost the young Tiger two games.

Conca, 21, was suspended by the Match Review Panel for his uncharacteristic and undisciplined elbow to the back of Smith's head in the second quarter of Saturday's win over the Giants.

The two had engaged in a wrestle where Smith pulled Conca's jumper over his head.

Conca responded by chasing the unsuspecting Giant to the interchange gate and collecting him with his elbow.

"We had a chat to Reece. Obviously we're disappointed - we like our players to play hard and tough but that was above and beyond," Hardwick said on Thursday.

"He was really disappointed with his actions, as were we. We've got a good player sitting in the stands for two weeks.

"Reece is a quality kid, he stepped outside the bounds, he knows that, we know that and we're really disappointed he decided to do that.

"It was really selfish on his behalf.

"He'll get better and learn from it, and more importantly, we're probably lucky Devon Smith didn't cop a nasty injury from it."

It's the second undisciplined act that has cost the Tigers in recent weeks, with Tyrone Vickery currently serving a four-week ban for striking Dean Cox in round 18.

Conca will miss the Tigers' clash with Essendon on Friday night and their away game against Adelaide in round 21 while Vickery is due back for the final home-and-away round.

Danny green was just on 3 aw talking about how the afl had a chance to make a stance for one punch violence by using Reece Conca as an example.

If Galbally thinks that that was criminal behaviour then most AFL players would be in jail. Off the ball stuff happens all the time.  The guy has no idea what happens on the footy field.  And how about the elbow or fist that is aimed at someones head pretending that it was meant for the ball?  That is just as cheap and often the player is hurt a lot more than Devon Smith was. Somehow that is thought to be part of the "toughness" in a game though! Why doesn't he say those things are criminal too?
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

Conca's 'appalling act' lucky to escape harsher penalty, says chief

Melissa Woods, AAP

CHIEF executive Gillon McLachlan admits the AFL erred in its handling of Reece Conca's "appalling" hit on Devon Smith last weekend.

Richmond's Conca received a two-match ban for his elbow to the back of the head of the GWS midfielder.

Boxer and one-punch campaigner Danny Green lashed the League for its handling of the incident, saying it sent a poor message to the community.

"The AFL had a real chance to make a real stand against this kind of violence, which the whole of society is trying to abolish," Green told 3AW on Friday.

"The AFL should have taken a stand and said, 'You know what, son, we know you are sorry and you didn't mean it and wouldn't normally do it but we have to make a stand and stamp this type of behaviour out'."

McLachlan said the incident should have been referred directly to the Tribunal, which would have allowed more scope for punishment.

"I thought it was an appalling act and I feel the match review panel (MRP) is constrained by it," McLachlan told 3AW later on Friday.

"I think probably the right outcome here was to put this straight to the tribunal because if you look at the rules, the application in this case was right of the MRP.

"But when you've got a guy, out of anger, running after a guy and hitting him from behind ... I just think it's a terrible, terrible act and I understand Danny Green's comments."

McLachlan said nothing could be done about it now, with no place for the AFL Commission to step in.

He said he had spoken to the MRP and AFL football operations boss Mark Evans, who is reviewing the citing process.

"I think we need to learn from it and understand what could have been done better if we feel that an outcome isn't right."
