Outs- Pettard (cannot hit a target)
       - Gordon (does some good things but cannot hit a target)
       - Batchelor (hard at it, but cannot hit a target)
       - Lennon. (Not quite ready)

Sydney will destroy us if we turn the footy over.

Ins- Martin
      -Lloyd
     - Dea
     - Helbig (to tag one of there onballer)

Totally agree Sydney will destroy us if our disposal is at all sloppy. Suggest to Hardwick to watch how Collingwood play there-they have a very good record at that ground. Petterd is a real liability far from goal. His disposal and decision making against the saints was average. Should be at risk of being dropped but won't. Martin must come in. Agree Gordon really needs to work on his disposal and decision making. Gordon probably will be suspended for that bump. Would drop Lennon. I think they will roll the decision and bring in Jackson. Suspect they will bring in Thomas as well.

I think Hardwick made a hint that he might bring in Vickery to match up on the height/size of Tippett, Franklin, Reid, Goodes. I sincerely hope not because Vickers isn't too flash defensively.

I think what will happen is Martin will come in for Lennon or Gordon and that is it. Gordon had a few iffy disposals which resulted in Saints goals last night so I think he's at risk of losing his position. I didn't think it was a bad game overall from Flash considering he's only played 10 games but we all know how Dimma operates.

In: vickery, martin
Out: gordon, lennon

3 forward talls might stop their third man dropping off to Jack and might force one of their flankers to do it, killing a part of their rebound.

Also recon we need to isolate our forwards as much as possible. We tend to bunch all our forwards in a line from FF to CHF. Should play Jack or whoever is at FF deep and pockets up on the half forwardline. They are just ok one on one but collectively they work well together. Our forwardline even against the Saints was average. Just nobody there to compete in the air.
Also need to start the game with a 6 man forwardline, don't let them get a loose man in our forwardline. And spread them out.

Yep. Caro also just mentioned it on Footy Classified.

According to Caro, there are only two possible ins - Dusty and Vickery - and Vickery would only come in if Hardwick plays 3 tall forwards.

I dont see why we would not play 3 talls!! Bring in Vickery I say, sub Conca.

Sydney have Buddy, Tippet and their ruckman...

3 talls will only work if they chase their opponents. Sydneys rebound off their def 50 will kill us if the 3 talls don't apply enough pressure. I reckon it could work well with richards taking reiwoldt and vickery playing deep in the square with griff roaming the middle of the ground, kicking long and deep before they get a chance to rush back and flood our forward line.

Too bad it isn't at the SCG and we could just rush behinds and get Griff to line up from the kick ins.
