The Tigers hope he can lock down centre half-forward next season, having enjoyed a solid 2014 when he was named the club's most improved player. He led the club in contested marks last season but, according to coach Damien Hardwick, still needs to show greater consistency. He finished the season with 12 goals but the Tigers want that raised to more than 40 next season. While his fitness "isn't bad", Hardwick said Griffiths needs to have greater belief in himself. A strong pre-season can only help in this regard, ensuring he and Jack Riewoldt become a match-winning one-two punch.

Yep Griffiths is a huge piece of the puzzle.
Others (among everyone) that need to take a step forward this year are Astbury, Conca, Vickery, Dea & Elton.

Yeah, its those middle tier players that really need to lift.

lol after this yr and the whole team admitting it was not fit enough the whole freakin lot of em should be doing the hardest possible pre season.

gut running and tackling would be the two areas id absolutely flog em in.
its time they as a group learnt a defensive side to their games  if they cant do it then just pee em off doesnt matter who they are.

Having said that I reckon the fringe blokes who got 1 year deals eg Elton, Dea and those in the last year of contract eg Arnott need massive pre-seasons and years or they will be saying "bye-bye"

Yep, big pre-seasons x 42!
We need to get our fitness levels up, too often we get outrun by fitter sides like Norf & Carlton.  Lets face it - getting exposed for fitness is the stupidest way to lose a football match & we got caught out looking pretty stupid at times!  Agree that we need to gut run & tackle all summer, then its about disposal skills!  Fitness gives you chances, but skills seal the deal!
