When do we start expecting articles about the hardest preseason ever and such and such bloke tearing up the track?

Who needs a big pre-season at your AFL club?

Richmond

Ben Griffiths

The Tigers hope he can lock down centre half-forward next season, having enjoyed a solid 2014 when he was named the club's most improved player. He led the club in contested marks last season but, according to coach Damien Hardwick, still needs to show greater consistency. He finished the season with 12 goals but the Tigers want that raised to more than 40 next season. While his fitness "isn't bad", Hardwick said Griffiths needs to have greater belief in himself. A strong pre-season can only help in this regard, ensuring he and Jack Riewoldt become a match-winning one-two punch.

so now griff is going to be the other kpd where does that leave vickery. griffiths actually shows more in the ruck than vickery vickery shows more as a fwd. neither have shown enough in either role imo. imo we can play just one and the one should play as a ruck/fwd and we go out and find a high quality 193 195 cm permanent kpf.
i know i harp about it but we need to find a permanent kpf to partner jack. maybe griffiths can become that player i have my doubts he takes few marks contested or un contested in the f50 and does not hit the scorboard.  even if he does become a good chf    we need more tall fwds on the list. another two at least.

ffs even if all of vickery griffiths and mcbean are classified  permanent kpfs there is still only 4 tall fwds when you throw jack into the mix. give me a mccartin type and a lamb/kietel type to compliment the tyupes we already have.

Why would you want a chf 5-7cm smaller than giff when you have griff

Griff chf

Vickery #2 ruck

If be playing

X - griff - x
Riewoldt - McBean - x

Maric
Vickery #2 ruck

Elton as back up. Only one short

Vickery - Riewoldt - Martin
Deledio - Griffiths - Gordon

Could swap a small for Deledio if we had the guts to get one.

Then Deledio could go HBF for rebound.

What a shame our list management only chased kids like Trengove and Armitage. So much quality and potential swapped between clubs this year and we couldn't find anything worth chasin properly. No inside mids to protect Chimp and free up the likes of Lids/Martin.

Glad we got Hunt for SFA but still it's hardly been a successful trade/FA period.

Id like to see, against the shye teams, us pack the forward line and trust the kids in the middle:

Cotchin. Griffiths. Martin.
Riewoldt. McBean/Vickery. Deledio

 :shh

of course half forward flankers are more midfeilders these days but still, looks nice on paper

Vickery - Riewoldt - Martin
Deledio - Griffiths - Gordon

McBean is a interesting prospect.

I think Shane Edwards would be damaging as a small forward.

Th forward line should have goals in it
 - Riewoldt, griff, McBean, Vickery
 - deledio martin, cotchin, sedwards, Gordon, llyod, Lennon vlastuin ellis

In theory cotchin should get some cover from: Martin, miles, ,vlastuin, hunt Conca .  :pray

Word is the hard yards are being done already.

Only concern is though there is no Matty White in front of the endurance running

Matty White didn't even make Ports top 10 in the B&F so what's your point

There is no point, there never is to his posts, they are never relevant and they are basically all about baiting posters or pulling the pee out of the players..

People needn't worry about Vlastuin too much, second year blues and even then hardly the most severe case - his dropping of simple marks suggested to me that perhaps he wasn't quite as switched on as he needed to be for some reason. Still had his moments when we stared winning and is still one of the few in the side who's actually stood up in a final (v Carlton). Kid will be a star. Conca on the other hand.....

Really the entire side, the fitness & coaching staff all need a big pre-season - have done since the Tommy left, or at least since his legacy wore off.
