I'm all for giving kids a go but this particular one has too many deficiencies in his game. One more year on the rookie list and bring in another kid on the main list. Seems ideal to me.

what deficiencies are those willy?

He can kick, he's one of the fittest at the club by all reports, he's strong at the contest - I think he's fundamentally a very sound player that just needs a run of 10-15 games....and playing midfield instead of fwd pocket might help with those numbers

I can see why people like him, he just doesn't have enough class for mine. Didn't look above VFL level in the twos games that I watched. I know a few disagree, that's just my take.

They'll be a few clubs looking to rookie arnot  :shh

Still has a year left on his contract doesn't he? Pretty sure they can't if that's the case.

But we delisted him  :huh

Th contract remains valid?

It's a fair argument you propose. The flaw is; he's not been given games due to old people like Jackson, Newman, Grigg, Thomas.

Least blocker types, with enough 'deficiencies' to fill a book.

Good move.

Yeah stuff the kids - gotta get Newy to 300!!

I would have axed Newy too. As I've said before I don't think Arnott will make it.
I see you're a champion of the kids. You do realize this will allow us to take another one  in the draft?

Making Newman retire would have allowed us to take another kid, keep Arnott on the senior list, get a second kid in the rookie draft who - unlike Arnot, I presume - will only be on a rookie wage and get more senior games into a young player like McDonough or Dea next year.

That's why he's going to moved onto the rookie list and not just let go.

and yet melbourne or st kilda are not allowed to draft him in the national or rookie draft before our pick?

bizarre

so the definition of delisted is - de-listed... unless you have extra years on your contract left, and the club chooses to move you to the rookie list.

Afaik, yes but I could be wrong. The club says it's committed to re-drafting him as a rookie, so they must be certain they can.

I could be wrong but I thought another club could draft him provided they take on his current contract. It's unlikely they will though especially for what will be a rookie listed player.

I'm with you fellas on not playing Newy and Grigg. I just don't rate Arnott. I would have played Dea and Donuts instead.

I personally think Arnot has more to offer than McDonough.
We need another inside mid, try playing Arnot there  :shh

Probably nothing but just heard a rumour there's an unhappy Bomber we may be clearing the way for.

which one?

Chapman?

Didn't say but that'd be my guess.

Just re-signed with Essendon.

Since when does Arnott have good skills? Hes okay on his left (barely) but has no right.
