Must play rest of the year
Dropping him now would be ludicrous

Then attempt to trade him

He is not going anywhere unless he chooses to go himself. They are not thinking about trading him. Unfortunately.
The bloke is 29 and  contracted until the end of 2027 who in their right mind will give him a three year contract on what id say is pretty good coin, at his age and with his form.

He aint stupid he is there for the next three years even if it means playing reserves.
In fact maybe the only way to get him out the door is tell him he is no longer required and he will spend the rest of his career in the magoos.

Agree Crawski. It’s the Brandon Ellis clause while he was at Goldie
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

If we trade Rioli Short may get his old role back full time. Agree with what everyone has said. We won't trade him and his currency is all time low. I must admit though the length of his contract was surprising at the time and proven to be a bit too long in the end.

Should be Capuano'd at this point....doesn't add anything in terms of experience or leadership....can't really teach kids how to coast in a good side when you're rebuilding and no longer a good side.... :shh

Disrespectful comments everywhere towards a member of our leadership group who is good at sticking his finger in kids chests and delivering sprays.

Sickened by this.

Picked again they are as blind as bats or have no effing idea or both.

We are heading into a world of pain if this is the quality of people we have running the club.

Bottom out no where near it on field and off field.

The mood of the group is solid and they are still engaged to perform. They love Adem and trust his direction although not winning hurts.

Seems this was either false or short lived.

Since then

1- terrible on the field
2- Dusty gone
3- Shai wants to be gone

Solid and engaged playing group my arse

Don't think there's much to read into this.

1 - decimated by injuries and the season was gone months ago. Probably hard for the players to stay engaged. Kids tired and sore you'd think. Older players no longer have the fire. It is what it is.

2 - Dusty was cooked. Period.

3 - Shai wants to go home for family reasons but it sounds like he's content to stay if a good deal can't be done. Also not reading into that too much. I'd be more concerned if players were looking for new Melb based clubs etc, such as Balta.
