I agree with that. Personally I reckon he kicked it that way because he has no confidence kicking drop punts for obvious reasons. But you open yourself up to criticism for ridiculous missed shots like that. It's not a first for him

Fumbly, poor skilled momentum killer today.

Doesn't get a lot of ball, but he hurts. Absolutely a best 22 player for me. Doesn't shirk or give less than 100% ever

Yup castagna/Bolton/rioli(hopefully not injured) our best combo. If Stack makes it back I’d play him in defence.

Jason Castagna – 7

Played an important role with his creativity in attack and forward pressure. Finished with two goals, but could have easily had three or four. Took a strong contested grab in the third quarter and converted the goal when the Tigers were on the charge.

Jason Castagna – 6

What could have been for Castagna! In general play he was electric, creating havoc with his run-and-carry around half-forward, but when the goals confronted him, things went awry. The nippy forward kicked 0.5 and missed everything with another shot early in the third quarter. Threatened to be one of the game's best players but ultimately let himself down with his finishing.

JASON CASTAGNA 6

Borrowed Travis Cloke’s radar and Adam Saad’s legspeed. Couldn’t hit the side of a barn but fired plenty of shots. One of the better goalless Grand Finals by a forward.

Winning hides everything

It could have been a day out for Richmond forward Jason Castagna, but the speedster left his goalkicking radar at home. He had plenty of opportunities to hit the scoreboard but managed just 0.5 for the afternoon. It might cost him a couple of fines on Mad Monday when he and his teammates gather to watch a replay of the game, but it won't make his beers taste any worse. He finished with 20 disposals and 10 score involvements, to go with his second premiership.

Thought he played a very selfish game yesterday, looking for self glory and not playing the team game.
Had better options for three of his shots that he complway ignored, as the headline says, winning hides everything.

Could have been 130 point win if George had the kicking boots on.

Churlish to say after a flag win, but poor kicking is poor footy pure and simple.

Any other opponent would have made us pay for George’s poor kicking.

I realise that other than his kicking for goal, he was actually good. Gained over 500m for the team.

But the point in my first sentence underlined what he did yesterday.

Absolutely sliced em up yesterday.

Should have finished 2 or 3, but we know he’s not a great finisher.

He is exhilarating when he finds space, if he could finish he’d be a top 5 small forward in the league.

I love Georgie, and we possibly don’t win it this year without him.
