Maybe Jack could do a salute the next time he kicks a goal, inspired by his heritage.

To me, it seems pretty divisive to charge the crowd throwing a pretend spear at them.

Yet you can't shoot a gun into the air or pretend to have hand cuffs (although I agree with the hand cuff thing).

has society got to a point where any we cant dislike anyone that is not Anglo Saxon heritage without being accused of being racist?

Yes. It's not politically correct.

it certainly feels like that out there. I cant remember a time where its more of an issue than it is now.

Combine the europeans/asians and lebonese issues in the 80's and 90's and you still wouldnt get close to this so called racism issue card we hear all the time.

Just out of interest do people feel the same way when the all blacks do the HAKA before each game....would have thought that is way more aggressive that what Goodes did

:lol
Bosnich got into strife for doing the hitler salute at a premier league match some time ago.

I wonder what the media would say if Reiwoldt tried it.

Goodes should be fined $5000 if was a proper war dance he's supposed to paint himself white first.

Slapping yourself in front of the opposition is more aggressive than running at the crowd and pretending to throw a spear at them? :huh

Funnily enough there have been more than a few rumblings in the Rugby world about it. Personally, I think they should only do it at home tests, not away tests.

The all blacks do their war dance to the opposition that they are going into war with. And fair enough to.

Goodes did his war dance including spear throw at the crowd.

Why does Goodes need to go to war with the crowd? Does wish to battle them? Why?

Is it a race thing? Can't take the booing?

What statement does it make? Is it the intention of the message or the interpretation which matters?

yeah thats the big difference, the haka is something the whole team does, black and white, before the game. the idea of a war dance is to intimidate the enemy, which is why they do it and it is aimed at the opposition, not the crowd

So when goodes does an aboriginal war dance ( something i'm unsure of actually being part of too many tribes cutlures, as they were not so warlike as the polynesians) directed at the crowd, he is trying to intimidate them, is he not?

nor are they the only ones, all of the polynesian teams also have their own variants of it. there is some entertaining videos on youtube of some these teams getting right in each others face.

Also Gigantor, any anger i have, is not so much at what goodes did, i just think it confirms he is a wanker, but it poos me to tears that the race card gets bought out when Goodes is being booed.

One question.

It's a war dance designed at celebrating his heritage.

Why wasn't it directed at Swans supporters?

That would have been different.

One response:  King Racist.

He is the most racist f*7kwit this country has ever had the misfortune of having represent it at some level in recent times.  Hate him.  And I don't do hatred for all the obvious reasons.  This 'thing' (my best attempt at portraying him) is a scumbag of the highest order.  Wouldn't pee on him if he was on fire.

I don't get how someone as precious as Goodes can be, in their right mind, so insensitive to others.
