If Griff comes in for anyone it should be Elton.

Can you play Griff, Vickery, Bean and Jack?
Bean plays small so I think we can fit them all in.

Plays small for a tall. Doesn't mean he can fill the void of a genuine small.

If fit Griffith in for McBean.
Edwards in for Menadue with McIntosh getting a bit of a rest as sub.
Would really like to see McDonough in for Morris but it ain't gunna happen
Leave Elton in the back line for another game or two. I don't understand why Astbury was dropped but give him another game or two to get hungry.

Essentially no change except to bring in two regulars from injury while two kids have got a taste.

I'd be very disappointed if McBean goes out for Griffiths.

The Barometer - Round 8

RICHMOND

ON THE BLOCK:
First-gamers Liam McBean (subbed off at three-quarter time) and Connor Menadue (subbed on) got a taste of AFL action but might go back to the VFL next week. Steve Morris was barely sighted on Sunday but we’ve put him in here most weeks this year and the coach hasn’t budged so don’t expect that to change.

ON THE CUSP: Ben Griffiths, who didn’t quite come up from concussion, and Shane Edwards, a late withdrawal, should come in - probably for McBean and Menadue. Matt McDonough was the clear standout in the VFL with 30 touches and three goals. Reece Conca was very busy and will be considered after working his way back from hamstring problems. Sam Lloyd and Nathan Gordon each kicked two goals but will have to wait.

AL PATON’S FORECAST: Punt Rd is a much happier place this week after a fantastic win releases the pressure valve on Damien Hardwick and his players. And what looked like a horror draw suddenly might not be so bad, with next week’s opponent Port Adelaide in a hole and Essendon (the week after) looking a long way off the team that defeated Hawthorn in Round 2. All three teams are 3-4 - the ladder is about to be shaped significantly. If the Tigers’ top tier - Cotchin, Deledio, Riewoldt, Maric - play like they did against the Pies, Richmond could go into its Round 11 bye on top of that bunch. But that’s a big if. And first the Tigers have to erase the memory of last year’s elimination final debacle. Kicking with the wind to start with might help.

Out: Morris

Was a liability today. Shocking.
Even the assist for Riewoldt's sealing goal was fortunate because Marley Williams slipped.

Worst game of the year from Morris and the standard has been low all year. :help

In the mix: round eight

Important midfielder Shane Edwards was declared a certain starter just hours after he was withdrawn late against Collingwood with a minor calf problem, so expect him to return against Port Adelaide.

Key forward Ben Griffiths will also be available after missing one match with concussion, meaning debutant Liam McBean could get just one taste at the top level for now.

It wouldn't surprise to also see tall defender David Astbury return this week to replace Todd Elton, but Reece Conca (22 possessions) might need another run in the VFL after one game in two weeks.

Matt McDonough continued his push for senior selection in the VFL with 30 possessions (19 contested), and three goals.

Really not sure where hardwick will go. Cant drop Ty as he actually played well.. Might make Griff earn his way back in by kicking a bag in the 2's as his goal kicking hadnt been fantastic. We need speed against port. Lots of forward pressure so they cant run it out. Can't afford 3 talls up forward imo. Expect morris to play up forward for the chase and pressure. wouldnt be surprised if only change is edwards for McBean.

Easy call really.
In: Edwards, Griffiths
Out: Morris, McBean

Keep Menadue in as the sub.

Morris simply cannot be kept in the side after his start to the year.
