Reading posts and watching games this week end it is apparent you can't have it both ways (at the moment for RFC).
Option 1. Play slowly deliberately and finally turn the ball over and concede a goal
Option 2. Play on as quickly as possible taking the game on at every opportunity. This will result in a high turnover rate BUT deliver more forward movement and hopefully goals. It will also create pressure on the opposition.
So if you are bagging Brandon Ellis and others for poor kicking and high turnover rate, just take a step back. I would much rather the whole team take it on and go for it, turnovers accepted.
As with everything, it is a learning process. They will get better over time. As the team progresses and understands this fundamental fast play and take it on style, the turnovers will lessen, players will learn to present better and we will move forward.
