Stupid post WP, why don't we care? Why bother?
Trying to build a culture starts at the bottom, not good enough!
Actually no where near good enough.
Where's  the challenge to go down a level and be competitive, this is turning into a real sissyul venture. :banghead

Cub not saying I agree with what they are doing (I don't) but blind Freddie can see with the VFL top ups they have that thier focus is not what it should be and that's results. If the focus was result driven we would have targeted more recently delisted AFL players or top line VFL players.

Quite frankly they were non competitive today. And outside of the captain Cachia and a couple of others the top ups out there today were not up to VFL standard. With our injury list and these top up players we have we are not going to be competitive in the short term. Unless of course we play Frankston every week

And just on Jayden Short, I like him as a player would love to see him get a senior gig but all I was highlighting is how small he is when you look at so many of the bigger bodies that were out there today. Have to say he put some of the more experienced blokes out there to Shane today. A very smart player
Cheers, first to admit I'm not totally up with the entire list. That said the experienced blokes don't seem to be getting anything out of it. Coach still poo me thinks!

Young forward Liam McBean flew back from Perth after he was an emergency for Friday night's clash with Fremantle, but he struggled to have an impact in the Tigers heavy VFL loss.

The Tigers were beaten by 94 points, with goalsneak Sam Lloyd kicking three of their five goals.

Veteran Chris Newman came on in the second quarter and was managed, getting through unscathed after three matches sidelined with a groin injury.

AFL-listed Tigers Nathan Gordon and Matt McDonough had 21 possessions each, while Ben Lennon showed glimpses of his class, snapping a nice goal out of a stoppage.

Left 10 minutes into the 3rd qtr once the margin was 10 goals

Biggest problem with our VFL side is the fact that our VFL listed players are not up to it. Some of our VFL listed blokes were non competitive compared to Werribee's VFL listed players.

The nicest thing I can say about the performance was it was abysmal

That's what I've been saying since last year. They realy are terrible and drag the side down...there's seriously only about 3 or 4 who look above the level of park footballers, let alone VFL level. Just can't be good for development.

Correct. Adding to that Clarke is a very average coach of our kids and should be sacked

Havent liked what we dish up in the ressies for a long time now.I have stopped going  to watch them because I think this philosophy of not worrying about the result renders it pointless going. As I supporter I want to see the black and yellow win.....all the time

am i understanding it correctly that WP is saying we deliberately have average footballers on our VFL list?

I'm more prone to be thinking that it is just incompetence and that Campbell did as good of a job at setting up this side as he is doing as head of the umpires

Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,

I didn't realise he was actually playing until half through the 2nd quarter because I hadn't spotted him. Did nothing but a lot of jogging around.

In his defense I think I read he didn't come on until the 2nd quarter? Still seems perplexing he was named in the best if all he did was jog around

In other words a typical Newman performance.....

Had a few kicks but they were to contest, so technically didn't hit a target. Didn't run hard at any stage.

He was like most of the others, very poor. As I posted earlier I thought Elton was our best. Felt sorry for hm to be honest. Seemed to be the only defender who didn't drop his head and considering the tidal wave of ball heading in there that was a good effort

I notice Gordon was named in the bests as well, thought he was just OK and that's probably generous. giving away stupid 50 metre panelaties doesn't help his cause one iota

Technically kicking to a contest is hitting a target according to Champion Data.  :thumbsup
