Maric back up, replacment, upgrade?
« on: June 06, 2015, 11:06:40 PM »
i love the big Yugoslavian as much as the next person. he will be 30 next year and will not go around forever.

Outside of Rance arguable the most important piece in the puzzle due to position and role

Kreuzer was pretty damn impressive today all things considered.

I still don't think we've worked out whether Vickery is going to be our stay at home 2nd forward to Jack, a forward that relieves our Number 1 ruckman or a full time ruckman that rests forward.

I wonder if we will get to a stage where we rotate Vickery and Benny G and not have an out and out ruckman. Bit like how Hawks did it with Hale and Roughead before McEvoy came along.

If Kreuzer wants to leave, he'll leave but will no doubt he'll cost a pretty penny, not sure a player with his injury history should be taking up as much cap space as he will for 3-5 years, which is what I imagine his contract length would likely be around.

Wouldn't be paying poo for Kreuzer. He's played about 1 game in 12 months?

Leuenberger same, just injury-prone.

Need to draft a promising ruckman, and look for a younger bloke with 3+ years on a list and some physical development already done IMO.

no we want to win the flag now

drafting an 18 year old ruckman isnt going to cut it

need 22-28 year old unless its a freak

It's a good q , coz if we bring in Krueger or leunberger , almost guarantee TV could walk as a FA in 12 months. And what have we achieved other than importing talented crocs that rarely get on the park

Personally I can't see Ty leaving at all.

He's a smart guy, his form has been ordinary and the whack to Cox potentially could have ended his own career since his name was dirt in football circles.
His old man is at the club, he's pretty cosy at RFC. He'll be paid well. Can't see anyone offering him overs.

A younger bloke with 3+ years on a list will put him in the 22+ age bracket ::)

Tito coined the term and he was a Croat.

Would like to see Vickery spending more and more time in the ruck, there's something about him in the ruck, great spatial awareness and very agile in close. Having said that I wouldn't say no to any of the 3 ruckmen listed above (within reason price wise though) wouldn't want to be giving away too much cap space to injury prone players.

Not a ruckman but what do people think of lachie Henderson in the yellow and black?
