Kreuzer - good player but similar in size and mould to Ivan and Vickery. Enough of those height. If we were looking for a ruckman then it would be a much taller ruckman.

Whaddya mean IF?
Sweet Geez.

* We were always going to play 3 key forwards against North (so Griffs came in). Playing Lloyd and Lennon meant we had two small forwards which meant one was always the sub. We felt we needed more marking power against North based on rounds 6 & 23. Ben was always going to make way. On Conca - we thought he would be better for the run for the following week. "

Well, there's the proof he's not up to coaching finals.
Like a deer in headlights.

He's gotta go.

There were two moves Dimma could have made that may well have turned the game on its ear.
1. At half time change rance into Waite , throw caution to wind that Petrie wouldn't get amongst it
2. Cotch was struggling big time with Jacobs wearing him like latex. I would have switched him to go with Harvey
These moves come off, guess what, we WIN :shh

Dimma: Treloar didn't come, others will

Richmond coach Damien Hardwick was very disappointed that Adam Treloar rejected the Tigers’ offer to join the club, but he is confident other players will come.

The GWS midfielder is highly rated and had Melbourne clubs in hysterics when he requested a trade away from the Giants to his home city.

“We always thought we were a genuine chance and we were under the impression between his manager and Adam that they didn’t really make up their mind until just prior to the decision on the day,” said Hardwick on SEN’s Coaches Box.

“We thought we put forward a pretty good case and were prepared to do anything to try and get him across.”

Hardwick did not shy away from admitting that the club would be far more aggressive at the trade table than they were this time last year.

Carlton defender Chris Yarran has been heavily linked with the club, but he did rule out Ben Lennon as potential trade bait.

“Obviously we need to improve our list and we didn’t quite get where we wanted to this year,” he explained.

“There are some areas that we feel we need to get better in and we’ve got Blair Hartley and Dan Richardson working their backsides off to deliver those players.

“No, Ben (Lennon) for us is a really important player and I spoke to him today about the role I see for him going forward for us.”

Next season will be Hardwick’s seventh year in charge at Punt Rd, and given he is still yet to win a final the pressure will be high from Round 1.

“It always is tough winning finals there’s no doubt about that,” he said.

“We are incredibly disappointed with the performance we put out there, North were incredible they played really well.

“I wouldn’t say the Richmond fans are more accepting of (not winning a final), and we as a footy club are disappointed.”

And a bit more from Dimma ...

Richmond coach Damien Hardwick has said if first round draft picks play too much VFL early "they become a VFL player"

Must be why he clearly only rates Lennon as one....

the comment was around first R draft picks, suggesting you play them early to become afl players , not pick 40s  ::)

* Avoided discussing Yarran and especially Bennell. Just mentioned we want to bring in players that will make us better. Dimma also stated if a guy has elite ability but has suspect character then you'd consider him, whereas if he had suspect character and average ability then you would overlook him. A footy club is made up of a variety of characters.

Claw, what do you think of that reasoning?

Lets be honest folks, we needed to bring in a tall forward and unfortunately Griffiths was our only man (LOL Hampson and McBean wouldn't of been the right choice). Anyone could see in round 23 we got destroyed by their talls going forward. We needed an extra to attempt to stretch them across the ground
