is it really so strange to say geelong will improve with a top five player in dangerfield?

is it strange to say GC should improve lots the next five years?

You can only go by the definitive statement richmond football club officials have made, pre-trade week, saying our ruck and kpd stocks are grand - we dont require a
good player. Just cause we are going into cruising mode, doesnt mean the other 1st to 12th ranked clubs will too  :whistle

How is the club saying some improvement will come from within going into cruising mode.
Did west coast dramatically add to their list this year to get such great improvement?
Nor did the western bulldoga who in fact lost their captain and brownlow medallist and higgins as well
