6+23

Take Rioli and 51+61+70 for 400+ points towards Lombard to sweeten the deal since we won't use those picks anyway.

Freo can give us 10+11+18 for Bolton and Baker and we can pay some Bolton wage as well.

Gives us 1, 6, 10, 11, 18, 20, 23, 24
8 picks top 25, how many will be good??

IMHO, about half.

Any club is doing well if more than half their players picked come good.

Just take pick 6...then bid for Lombard with it on draft night..... :shh

Yep the more GC aren't coming to party with their normal 'overs' bid I agree with this. Issue is that we can't take advantage of it with much later picks currency left from lions trade.

But I'm more leaning to just get this trade done. We can't risk not getting 6, and I'm long run this would be a huge stuff up if we fail to get a Smillie or Reid turning 21 when Rioli is in his 30s.

I don’t think 6 will ever be off the table so there’s no need to blink first. They have upto and including draft night to trade picks so they wouldn’t gain anything from saying stuff richmond this is taking too long and trading pick 6 elsewhere.

DANIEL RIOLI

Gold Coast has offered Richmond pick No.6 for Rioli, but the Tigers are after more for their best and fairest winner. They will be targeting another early pick as part of the deal and could hold out given Rioli is contracted for three more years at the Tigers. Gold Coast wants to add class and poise to its half-back line and has a five-year offer for Rioli to join the club. Both the Tigers have Suns will be hugely prominent in the remaining three days of the trade period, with a decision on the Suns' pick 13 expected to come before the Rioli trade progresses.

A fascinating watch this one. I think we hold out Dimma's pride will get better of him and will ensure the Suns get Rioli. And they'll cough up. Dimma didn't go there to develop players. He wants ready made.

Another one pay up or he stays. They committed to him and they knew from day one what it was going to cost them.

I gotta say, the media bias towards some clubs is astonishing.

Where was this sort of commentary when Geelong got Bowes and Pick 7 for nothing.

When Cats fleeced Adelaide for Danger.

The Dan Rioli deal looks like Richmond gets six and 23, but eventually hands back a pick in the 30s. The Suns' 23 would be swallowed up by Lombard bid so Suns only need the points, not that actual pick. In the trade blog

https://t.co/uJE20ke4Ug

Q: We don’t have a pick in the 30’s? After potentially 23 we have 24 then 51

Ralph: Yes, but eventually they will end up acquiring one. They have plenty of flexibility with so many early picks.

Dimma Hardwick took in the NFL live today (Buffalo beat the New York Jets) but will be thrilled to land Rioli tomorrow. The deal will in effect be the points value of 6 and 47 but will now only need the Tigers to hand back a bevy of their late picks to secure 6 and 23.
