I didn't get to see the first half (only about 5 minutes of it).

Did Rioli play the first half in the midfield?

When the GCS were on top of us Rioli stood up and kept us in it and kicked some sensational well needed goals. Breaking the Suns' momentum was crucial in is getting ascendancy in the 2nd quarter

Played forward, Slipper.

Rioli was in the votes at half-time. Either kicked or had a say in most of our goals till then. Quieter after that but 16 possies, 4 marks, 5 tackles and 3 goals is a good return for a small forward.

A lot of his best work goes unnoticed.

Busts his hump to put pressure on when his teammates are jogging

And you can see a bit of that on the TV

Just don't get what some experts dislike about him

Loved Dan last night. Rinse and repeat please.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

He chases blokes even when most give up because they look like they are well clear and are about to take a cozy kick, he did this and blasted in at the last second which caused a balk on the kick and a turnover to our favor.  He does this over and over.  He is unselfish and dedicated even when most people are smoked, he digs deep for a 1 percenter.  Just watch the replay of how many times he does it

So many times where he just got a push on an opponent after sprinting 20+m to get there to effect the kick and create a turnover. His repeat sprints must be through the roof

Good to see people finally starting to notice and realising the importance of the work he does off the ball that he's only been doing all stuffing year.... :shh

I think it's more him being able to have that defensive pressure and still kick goals, his work rate has never been the problem
