Mabior Chol joins Gold Coast / Tigers get End of Round 2 compo pick [official]

If we do get a pick in the 40s that would a very good result IMO. Would leave us with 3 picks in the 40s which we could surely bundle up to get another pick in the first round.

As an unrestricted free agent, Chol's move can be confirmed as early as October 1 when the free agency period begins.

"We're extremely excited that Mabior Chol will be going to the Gold Coast Suns for four years," Chol's manager Ralph Carr told Channel Seven.

"It was important for him to go home and get more opportunity to play senior football."

Chol qualifies as a free agent having previously been delisted by the Tigers and re-rookied at the end of 2018.

Depending on the size of his new deal, the Tigers will receive a free agency compensation pick.

Gold Coast’s upgraded contract has clinched Chol. Suns removed the trigger for a fourth year, guaranteeing Chol a list spot until 2025. St Kilda misses on Mabior.

Freakish athlete isn’t finished product but six years of Richmond development a sound base.

As a guide from last year, Adelaide received an end of second round (pick 36) as compensation for Rory Atkins.

The Suns offered Atkins a five-year deal worth approximately $400,000 per season.

The AFL won't give us 2nd round compo haha.

And if we take a FA like Talia then we get zilch, I believe.

So we are either getting 3rd round (probably pick 50 after more slides) or Talia.

I'd rather Talia if he's fit for half the season tbh.

Yup so based on how we got a second round pick while Geelong got a first round pick for what was essentially the same deal when Ellis and Motlop left respectively I’d say we’re looking at an end of third round pick. So somewhere in the deep 50s or early 60s after all the f/s and academy bids are considered.
