The "right" isn't just one homogeneous mass with a a single set of beliefs....there's no "alt-right" or "populist" neo-cons.....they're nothing to do with the alt-right and are generally as opposed to them as the left are.....all the NeverTrump Republicans like McCain were/are neo-cons....hell Globalist anti-Nationalist poster boy Macron's a classic centre-right neo-con .....in fact the left are as often the unwitting shills and useful idiots of neo-cons as they are anyone... :shh
Of course, both the "left" and the "right" aren't homogeneous and what defines each branch varies from country to country. In Asia, both the left and right were/are nationalist as both 'sides' in the 19-20th centuries opposed foreign influence (Japan, China) and colonial rule (Vietnam, India).

Macron is centre-right but he isn't a neo-con. A neo-con rejects the post-1960s social revolution and is socially conservative. Technically, neo-conservatism applies to American politics. Neo-con is used more as a pejorative term elsewhere just like "the use of the word "left". As 65 said it's "words".

...and Britain is not a mess thanks to Brexit, the Conservative Party is...Britain will soon be a mess if that delusional Marxist halfwit Corbyn and his comrades and cohorts of dopey eternal undergraduates win the next election.. :shh :shh
Britain is in limbo thanks to Brexit as no one (eg: business) can plan beyond March 29 and the main problems with this current Brexit deal won't be resolved by then (hence this "backstop" idea over the Northern Ireland border). It was an undefined referendum and now the Brits are paying for it. It will also cost another PM her job (even if May wins this leadership spill) so the uncertainty will only continue for longer. It's an utter shambles and it's all self-inflicted!

As an Aussie, I couldn't care less who wins the next UK election. It's not as though Britain is a world power anymore. It's not my homeland either, thank god ;D. The underlying issues over there won't go away whatever happens. The economic centre of the world is moving to the Asia-Pacific region and away from the Atlantic. Great for us; not good for them.

ps. Got to laugh at the "stability" and "leadership" that their useless monarchy provides too :lol. More concerned about making the celebrity pages these days :sleep.

Well apparently, May has survived the leadership spill 200-117. Angela Merkel won't need her "who ist das neu PM?" notes  ;D.

UK Government now warning and preparing the Brits for a hard no-deal Brexit. Apparently, they can't legally have a 2nd referendum either to bail out of it. It's going so well  :wallywink.

If the EU holds it position and doesn't now cave in on the Irish border backstop then Britain will remain in Brexit no man's land until March 29.

The neverending circus that is Brexit continues :rollin. Hard to see a solution to this even if a general election was called as neither British major party is united enough to command authority to gain a mandate, control their parliament and bring any certainty either way. What an utter shambles it is over there.

The only positive is if the pound keeps diving then it'll become a cheap time for us Aussies to go holiday in the UK.

Like the Notre Dame fire was sadly caused simply by an electrical short-circuit.

Though, it didn't stop loopy paranoid reactionaries like Bolt and co. using it to again attack all those they love to blame and hate and exclaiming the end of western civilisation for the 1043828298 time  :wallywink :shh.

Well, well, HG Wells. A fan of time travel, Dio?
