Get the feeling some of you believe the right course of action would of been to tank list manage.

Creating history and building club culture not as important as draft picks.

Discuss.

There's a serious question over whether it was worth it. If you are going to roll over in finals year after year after year what's the point of making finals? What were the seasons wins for?

What relevance to the players and fans were those wins now? Not a winning culture because if that were the case we would have won at least 1 final. All they prove is that we can win games but we don't when it really counts.

Maybe draft picks would have been a better in the long run. We'll never know

And how have our games V Port gone since then? Experience wins every time. One, or if you are lucky two, draftees will not make us that much of a better team.

If you knew you were going to be thumped.......
However you don't and so it its always worth putting yourself into a finals slot just to give yourself a chance. You cannot get finals experience without playing them.....

What - that one solitary home and away game against them while they were woefully out of form and had just lost to Brisbane? Did that stunning victory help us get over North months later?

Or in our case, we have to be in finals to lose finals and learn nothing from it. :wallywink

And one thing is for sure, finals experience and winning hasn't resulted in winning a final. That's factual. It's got us three big fat doughnuts in a row.

The more convincing argument can only be, therefore, that getting better draft picks will likely strengthen the list and our ability to win games

I still think that sequence of victories was the best thing Richmond has done since 1982 - better than beating Carlton in 2001 , up there with beating Essendon in 95.
Never forget the feeling of euphoria after beating Sydney and securing a finals berth despite being in a precarious  3-10 earlier in the season . No other team has done that.
Still got a good kid in C . Ellis too who looks a 200 gamer.

Your personal feeling of euphoria at that time has not a single thing to do with what would be best for the club and whether it was worth it in the long run.

You need to separate the two.

Happy clappers generally have trouble separating things......like a football club from it's paid employees.....
