NAB 1: Richmond vs Freo
« on: February 16, 2016, 12:44:33 AM »
Footy (NAB 1) is finally back on Friday. What is everyone's thoughts? Who should play, what do you want to see from the game, etc .....

-------------------------------------

Friday, February 19,  4.10pm WST (7:10pm EST)

Fremantle v Richmond  @ Rushton Park, Mandurah

----------------------------------

SUPERCOACH WATCH:
Richmond debuted Kamdyn McIntosh in Round 1 last year, will they do the same with mature-age recruit Nathan Broad in 2016? The versatile defender has impressed over the summer and is considered ready-made.

Send Conca and Yarren over to at least sweat it out a bit even if neither play.

Tigers to wear Electric Yellow in NAB opener
richmondfc.com.au   February 16, 2016 3:30 PM

Richmond fans will have to wait an extra week to see the club play in the fan-voted 2016 pre-season guernsey, with an alternate version of the new design to be worn in Friday’s NAB Challenge opener against Fremantle.

Due to the AFL deeming that the mostly black pre-season guernsey clashes with Fremantle’s dark purple strip, the Tigers will wear an electric yellow version against the Dockers in Mandurah.

The electric yellow has been on display throughout the pre-season during Richmond training sessions, with white shorts to accompany the guernsey in this week’s match.

The decision not to opt for the home and away season clash guernsey was made as the Club is committed to only wearing the traditional sash style in games for premiership points or AFL finals.

The Tigers will wear the new black pre-season guernsey in the second and third matches of the NAB Challenge, against Hawthorn and Port Adelaide respectively.

In mid-2015, the responsibility of selecting the 2016 pre-season guernsey was handed over Richmond’s members and fans, with the grey Tiger logo option winning with 71% of nearly 4,000 responses.

Don't see them flying older guys to WA and back, so my guess for NAB 1 is:

B:  Morris      Astbury      Elton
HB: McIntosh  Broad      Vlastuin
C:   Conca    Lambert     B.Ellis
HF: C.Ellis     Griffiths       Rioli
F:   McBean   Vickery     Lloyd
R:   Soldo   Martin   Townsend
Int: Lennon, Menadue, Marcon, Castagna, C.Moore, Markov, Short, Chol, Butler

The main thing to get out of the game is hopefully no injuries (touchwood :pray).

According to Dan Richardson:

* Relative young team this week against Freo. A more experienced side will play Hawthorn in NAB 2.

* Rioli, Chol, Markov, Marcon and Broad will play.

* 29-man squad will be announced at noon tomorrow (Wed). Squad will be trimmed to 26 on Friday.

Hardwick will follow the lead of several other AFL clubs and hand over the coaching duties to assistant Brendon Lade for the Tigers' opening pre-season match on Friday night.
