everyone says Rance/Maric/Lids are players we can't afford to be without, add Miles to that list, our Clearance results are significantly better when he is in the middle.

I love Miles as much as anyone.

But is he really more important than Martin ?

Rance and Jack for mine.
I'd go as far as to say we are not a top 8 side without either of them in our side for the year.
We just have no cover for either of them.

Yep. I think Jack might be the most important. If Rance went down I think our system would ensure we still had an OK defence but I'd hate see our already underwhelming forward line function without Jack.

Yeah having a good defence is just as much about system as it is personnel. Look at West Coast last year after losing their no.1 and 2 kpd. I think we have a reasonable system that would keep is in an ok position. No doubt it would still be a massive loss though.

When we were missing Lids, Maric and Rance back in 2014 for an extended period- we looked extremely mediocre.
We they returned - Richmond miraculously looked like a top 8 team again.

Jack been quite durable over the past few years and hasn't missed much. However he was rested for a match late in 2013 . In that game Vickery kicked 4 , Aaron Edwards kick another 4.

God forbid anything happen to Jack - but the silver lining is it could be the making of Griff.

Much respect to West Coast last year for the way they responded to key personnel being injured. Something we lack at the moment.

Yep

And with our extremely limited ruck stocks I reckon vickery is by default extremely important as well
