It's like reading a James Hird interview.

Compromised drafts, yes they were, but the Conca draft was very strong. At 6 and 30 we could have picked 2 A-graders from Heppell, Prestia, Lynch and Parker at 30.

Also, we had to take mature aged players, yes maybe 7 years ago, but Gordon, Moore, Townsend...

Norf also have grabbed mature recruits, but guys that could actually get a game for their seniors.

Lynch and Parker.

We'd be a different team if we'd taken those two...
Or those two would be different?  :shh

Good point

We keep hearing we coulda, shoulda taken but what guarantee would we have that they would the players they if they came through our system?

I keep reading people ripping into our development so based on that the "coulda, shoulda" players woulda all be spuds

  • You have to think anyway, so why not think big? DT
Dan Richardson, well the other clubs aren't crying like you, North, Hawthorn, Geelong, Bulldogs, have managed their lists just fine.

We have had the same opportunities as them.

The strategy is wrong, admit it.

RFC twitter saying Benny Gale will be on 3AW tonight at 6.20pm and then Talking Footy on 7mate at 7.30

They are wheeling them all out now to they and placate the masses

Bit late seeing theyve done a "360" in the space of 6 weeks

The weak draft argument is pathetic.

No one forced Richmond to recruit every mature aged dud they could find and play them at the expense of our youngsters.  That was a strategy they chose and one they need to be removed for.

GWS and GCS drafts provided unprecedented opportunities for recruiting departments.
Those clubs were never going to be able to keep the talent they had coming into their clubs.  They even traded out quality youngsters for mature age recruits to balance out their lists.

The strategy should have been to poach as many top end youngsters from GWS and GCS as possible while looking for trade opportunities of quality mature age players from struggling clubs.  There has been a massive movement of talent over the last five years or so and all Richmond has managed to attract are VFL level duds who they will have to replace again in two years time.
